I've wondered how much the knee injury had any affect on that dash.

The entire 2009-10 season he just didn't look "right" out there. I really can't explain but you could still tell he wasn't at 100% This year his improvement has been spectacular both for the Chiefs and for Canada.

10 - 1 final.

Schenn ties the Canadian record with 4 goals in one game.
The fans chanted his name for Canada's player of the game but when Erik Gudbranson was named, boos came from the fans. LOL!

I'm honestly pretty surprised the record is only 4 goals.

Good. Make sure he's healthy before he plays again. Besides it's not like Canada isn't going to beat Norway without both Kassian & De Haan.

and Schwartz (knee), and Eakin (hand).

they don't really know if any of them will be available for Sweden, either.
pretty short bench considering you can't add players to the roster.

and Ryan Ellis is now the all time points leader for the tournament (for a defenseman), with 22.
(maybe more, I am only in the 2nd period on the PVR)

in good company though.
shares the record with Mario Lemieux and Simon Gagne

i think the record for points in a game (for Canada) is 7, and there's been a few of those as well.
Forsberg had a 10 point night against Japan back in the day. Don't know if it's the record or not.

I think the Kings might want to hold on to Schenn he looks like a keeper.

There was a "rumor" that Schenn might be involved in a trade for Iginla earlier. I am glad it didn't happen. In a couple of years (maybe even next year) Brandon might be a Calder candidate.

You can rest assured that if guys like Gretzky, Mario, and maybe even Sid played in this tournament at 19 (or any time after being drafted) that they likely would have set a higher record. Also I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure this use to be a slightly more exclusive tournament (8 teams?) and didn't involve countries like Norway.

That being said, I'm pretty sure OV was 19 when he last played in this tournament because of the lockout. Most of us didn't know what he was capable of at the time but in hindsight I guess it wouldn't have been a huge shock had he scored 5 in a game against 1 of these weaker teams like Peru. Most superstars don't play in the tournament past 17 because they are drafted in the calender year that they turn 18 but OV has a late birthday as well, and therefore was drafted in the calender year he turned 19.
