I'm not gonna hear that crap. I'll see your DeJong & Fowler hitting bad & raise you Freddie Freeman & Brian McCann.
Freeman is in the same category as DeJong, imo. I don't think you guys can take him out.

Fowler has been a bum for awhile, though. The logical thing to do would be to put Wong on leadoff. He is our 2nd best base runner and he's been hitting well overall. Shildt's been trotting out Carpenter and Fowler into the leadoff spot and its been a bit of a mess all year IIRC. Having a guy on base when Goldschmidt and Ozuna are up would be night and day for the Cardinals lineup.

Lets be honest, though. We're seeing a lot of really good pitching.

Good news, Cardinals fans! Just placed a 4,800 V's wager on Atlanta for this afternoon's clincher!

If Folty is the same pitcher we saw in game 2 I like our chances, if not, we’re never gonna make it to the NLCS again

And it sucks because Snitker gave away game 1, and his decision to pull Tomlin in game 4 was boneheaded, but the offense gets the bulk of the blame for that one. Had every chance in the world to put that game away.

Cardinals kryptonite is the slider even coming into the series so their season coming down to a pitcher with a nasty slider is pretty fitting.

I generally think the narrative as a whole will be about the managers. I think both managers have made some questionable decisions in a series full of tough decisions.

I wonder if Dodger and Astro fans are as doom and gloom about game 5 as we Braves fans are?

Its a different kind of doom and gloom when you're the favorite.

Cardinals are 5 years removed from a playoff series win and the Braves are....18?!? years removed from a playoff series win. For the Dodgers/Astros its a choke/disappointment and for you it would be a curse.

This would be different than the rest. We really haven’t blown any series leads in the span. Most years we’ve been 4 and done, and I still can’t remember the last time we won game 1 of a series

Duvall starting over Joyce tonight for Braves. Fried will be on standby in case we get bad Folty.

I’m rooting like hell for the Braves but I’m afraid this one ends like the rest have the last 18 years

Anybody else notice that last night Fox didn’t mention this series one time on their pre or post game show??? But they pimped the hell out of gNats/Dodgers even though this series has been 1000x more entertaining

I'm having a hard time coming up with comparisons on the Cardinals side. We haven't lost a Game 5 in the first round since 2001 and that was to a Diamondbacks team that had Randy Johnson and Curt Shilling and won the WS.

You also needed a miraculous late-inning comeback for game three, or this series is already over

It was a 1-0 game. I wouldn’t call that miraculous.

Scoring 3 runs against the opposing team's closer in a playoff game seems miraculous to me...but call it what you will, you're still lucky to have a shot at winning this series.

A closer we have historically hit well, and it was. 1-0 game. Of course we’re lucky to still be here. So are the Cards. But coming back from a 1-0 deficit is hardly miraculous

Duvall was probably gonna be the series MVP had we won Game 4. Good decision there.

But if we win tonight, Folty would have to be MVP

Nope. Not giving the pitching credit for hitters the caliber of Freeman, Donaldson, Markakis, Joyce, & McCann collectively hitting WAY below the Mendoza line this series. No excuses for the poor at bats.....especially by Overrated Freddie.

I wonder if Dodger and Astro fans are as doom and gloom about game 5 as we Braves fans are?

No, because both of them have won series during the Obama & Trump administrations.

You're right, it wasn't miraculous, it was St. Louis shitting the bed when they had an inferior team on the ropes.

Silly me.

Provided it's not an 11-7 type win....which I'd be happy to take.
