Game 3 feels like a must win for the Padres with Musgrove on the mound. Pitching matchups have been pretty even thus far. This one should favor the Padres.
Agreed. Ranger Suarez is an enigma. You don’t know if you’re getting 6 innings of great stuff or a meltdown. Heard today that Soto has the best individual numbers of any visiting player in the history of Citizens Bank Park.

That's good to hear, because Soto has not exactly performed like the superstar we thought we got. He has had a few clutch hits in the playoffs, so hopefully it continues.

Musgrove is tough when he's on, though he is prone to the off inning. I actually saw him pitch earlier this year against the Phillies. He took a no-hitter into the 5th, then blew up. Phillies won 6-2. Suarez pitched that day too and went 7.1 innings. It was pre-deadline though.

That’s good news from my perspective on Musgrove. The Phils bats have to do their job, but if they can get guys on that stadium can be next level. Opposing pitchers have really struggled in that environment when the team gives them a reason to get rocking. Musgrove struggled down the stretch right?

Not at all. He caught fire at the right time. Grand total of 3 runs allowed his last 5 starts combined.

But he was 8-0 when I saw him that night against Philly. So the question is does his streak end or does it continue?

Well, I got that really fucking backwards haha. I’m just excited I’ll be able to watch this one. I’ve been away with students on an overnight retreat. Have been stealing updates from my phone haha. Can’t wait to nestle in to the man cave with wifey and a beer.

Yeah yesterday was rough. 1:30 start here and I couldn't see the game. Caught the 5th innning on the radio and got home in the 8th inning.

But Game 1 I saw in its entirety, lol. Wheeler was unhittable. And I think Darvish still feels violated by Schwarber.

The Schwarber HR was something I could watch a replay of. Mon dieu. My big fear with Suarez comes in that string of RH bats the Padres have after Soto. Gonna be rough to navigate.

I've sat in the exact spot where that home run landed. Usually when games are sold out or close to sold out and that's all I can get. I can't fathom a ball being hit that far. Unreal.

In theory, yes. However, with Nola’s outing yesterday, I’m really skittish about him in a potential Game 6. Maybe I’m nuts but no one knows the little idiosyncrasies of Aaron than his brother Austin. That was his worst start in quite sometime. Phil’s wouldn’t be dead in the water if they have to go back out to San Diego but the best path is to grab a sweep at home.
I believe they said when the Nolas faced each other it was the first time in the playoffs one brother pitched to another.

I think Ranger Suarez is 50/50 to be horrible or exceptional tonight. He really thinks he can be a front line starter. If that's who he is, he takes the ball and runs with it. Or he loses confidence and gets rocked. Musgrove has pitched some big games with some great results. Padres most definitely have the pitching edge.

Did A-Rod just say he would pitch around Harper to get to Mike Schmidt? I mean I guess if it's a lefty righty thing

Ranger is night and day different from the wind up and stretch. And the Phil’s defense rears it’s ugly head again in a big spot. They were built to hit. They need to continue to work Musgrove. 53 pitches so far through 3.

Ranger's pitching his ass off. It's a good thing too, cause the defense ain't helping tonight

Unacceptable. They’re confidence and concentration plays a major leaguer needs to make.
