One of only 5 teams with no shot at the playoffs, the trade deadline will be interesting. Massive sellers market, when the White Sox say they want a Soto type package for Luis Robert, they might get close even though he's nowhere near as good.

Will be interesting the Angels debacle last year could be on teams mind. Or even the Guardians with the waivers.

Some bubble teams may be weary of pulling an Angles and not accepting that if your mid at best by august it’s probably who are.

Which might make them sellers to try and find the next team with false hope to overpay for nothing.

I think in a way the extra WC spot can also help teams that are quickest to fold as well.

Robert's a polarizing player. Amazing tools, but they come with crappy plate discipline and an extensive injury history.

Sure but being under team control pretty cheap through 2027 and being only 27 years old makes him very valuable to a team that needs hitting, you have to take chances unless you are a team like the Dodgers or Yankees. I hope the Giants find a way to get him but they will be outbid.

Robert even without the Plate discipline is an excellent player. Power. Typically solid BA(brutal this year in limited reps). Elite D/Speed.

It’s all injuries for him.

Entering his prime it’s all about health. Big IF but I could easily see him being a top 5 hitter in the game for years if he’s healthy.

I don't think the Giants will participate. They shot their wad before the season. It was an excellent effort but it just didn't work. I don't see them throwing more money at it. They did a great job of improving the team on paper and deserved better results than they've gotten
