And Tulo's batting .400/.500/.730 on the year. Wow.
It's 3 oclock in the afternoon. Has he gotten hurt yet?
theres like 4 or 5 players on Colorado on pace for over .300 and 100 RBI
I'm predicting at some point fairly soon, Colorado goes on a losing run of epic proportions. Something like losing 25-out-of-30. They're propped up by an unsustainably hot offense. They're fake.
It's funny, quite a while back you were trying to build up a d'backs fan by telling them to bank on Colorado finishing beneath them when it's all said-and-done. Colorado went on a tear, flirting with the division lead, having their epic offensive outburst.. all that.
But now here we are, after all that, and when I take a peek at what they're doing, you know what I say to myself? "HD.. know what? I could honestly see your prediction coming true." Especially considering this movie has played out before in seasons past with regards to them.
2 months down. 4 to go. We shall see!
Why on earth is Andre Ethier playing CF?
You should be concerned with the lineup, but not because they got shutout by Chris Sale. He's just really good.
Yeah, and like I've lamented about 100 times, interleague is bullshit. WTF are we doing playing the Chicago White Sox when we could be playing meaningful games against divisional opponents? Makes NO SENSE!
Why on earth is Andre Ethier playing CF?
Since 2010, Kemp has cost the Dodgers an estimated 73 runs with his poor defense, per the defensive runs saved (DRS) metric. That is the worst total of any player at any position, and that is despite injuries that limited him to only 179 total games in 2012 and 2013. This season, Kemp has cost the Dodgers 12 runs, again the worst total in baseball.
Because Kemp is not the answer
There was an interesting article on ESPN that made a good argument for it.
Fair enough. Was aware metrics rated him as a poor defender (and had no business whatsoever winning any Gold Gloves), but DRS has him rated at -12 this year... through only 39 games in center. He also rated at -37 in 2010, giving him a -1.1 WAR despite having a 106 OPS+.
Ethier's defense is a bit underwhelming as well, but I guess he can't be any worse than Kemp. The Kemp contract could end up being in the conversation for worst contracts of all-time, or at least up there with Ryan Howard.
