Never mind the fact that you are bringing Giants Board Rosterbation to the general boards, he is a douche bag bc he pointed out an organizational weakness with a realistic scenario? You sure are a peach.
I am guessing this is a response to NN? I didn't even realize he was still around. Ignore is such a beautiful feature.

I will have to give ignore a whirl. And yes, NN or whatever his current handle happens to be now, is the bull's eye on my dartboard.

To start a thread with the title "Duffy Out For Season" is a douchebag move by a guy who is starving for attention and thought a bullshit thread title might get some people to take a look at his thread. You know darn well the thread title was not designed to make you think he was talking about an organizational weakness.

I take a peak every now and then for a giggle. Its amazing how the same old mundane topics can be hashed and re-hashed again and again and the same folks actually think they are discussing something new. But the douchiness of starting a topic with the line he did needed to be exposed on the portion of the board where he tries to masquerade as a knowledgeable baseball guy.

But yet it got you to read it AND he brought up a good point while pranking us all in the process. Overall, it is pretty smart of him to do frankly. He gets the views and his points are logical. You should try it sometime.

None really. Arizona is chock full of outfielders and Swanson is not even in the bigs yet. The D'Backs' goal it seems is to win now and Miller definitely helps there.

Chalk full of 3+ win young outfielders? I'm just saying.

Is he Howie Kendrick with the bat? Your team's offense was already void of clutch 2-out hits and the Dodgers are letting the one guy who seemed to do that consistently walk.

Hernandez 2015: .307/.346/.490 .359 wOBA 132 wRC+

Now granted right now he's more of a LHP killer and won't be used exclusively at 2B but he will be a decent part of the solution. I have been a guy saying the Dodgers could benefit from going after a full time LF bat, like a Justin Upton, now I doubt that is going to happen. But getting Seager for a full season and getting Puig and Grandal back healthy will undoubtedly help out. But our offense was top 5 in MLB last year already anyways.

Why not just title the thread accurately? If someone is interested they'll join in. But to see something that tells you one of the best players is out for the season and you open it up and its just nonsense is childish. Besides, the Giants have guys already who can adequately replace Duffy should he get hurt for a short period. No team, has ready replacements for players who go out for the year. To expect the Giants to have a guy ready is ludicrous.

LOL

He is complaining about that thread?

I know it is fun to pick on the "special" kids, but it really is unbecoming. You should let him be.

So your beef is in his journalistic integrity on a fucking message board. I'll make sure to let him know to stay off your lawn too.

Except when it mattered, as in RISP with 2 outs. The post game "Dodger Talk" beating of the dead horse was always runners left in scoring position, inability to get the clutch hit, or any other variation of the offense's inability to cash in when needed.

Sorry, pressed send before I was done with the point. I like Kiké but he is not a guy you want to have starting at 2B exclusively yet as he still has some growing to do at the plate. As you stated, his splits are somewhat artificial as they were compiled primarily in platoon situations, where they not? Also, Kendrick was a "professional hitter" and seemed to be the one guy in that lineup not named Turner that hit the ball consistently with runners in scoring position. I don't have data for that, nor do I care enough to look it up, but as someone who listens to my fair share of Dodger games, that's the perception I got from Kendrick. I think Dodger fans are underrating Kendrick and remember the offense REALLY struggling about the same time Kendrick went down with an injury last season.

meh honestly I don't buy or I should care much about the whole 2 out and RISP thing... it's just another AB in a ballgame. Realistically it doesn't mean anything different than any other AB, people blow it up because of the perceived magnitude of that AB. I'll admit I (we) all fall into that trap of getting pissed off when guys don't get "clutch" hits but realistically it's not a factor I really consider when evaluating a team.

If you want argue liking contact hitters than so be it, but even then I'm not sure it's a huge factor. Their are multiple ways to win ballgames.

Looking at MLB/MILB splits in 2014/2015: this is assuming guys need it, could work

Something like a Hernandez/Johnson (or Utley maybe) platoon at 2B.
And Pederson/Thompson platoon in CF.

Fair enough. I have felt as if the Dodgers were built for the AL, looking for the 3-run homer, while the Giants and Cards were built for the NL, with smart base running and situational hitting. The problem is that looking for the 3-run homer doesn't translate often into playoff wins. I also don't agree with your regarding the importance of the 2-out hit but I also halfway expected you to minimize it.

I'm not necessarily minimizing that they weren't particularly good with 2 out and RISP just more so I don't think that stat is very relevant.

And from a strictly analytic standpoint, you may be right. But the confidence and swagger it creates with the offense and in the clubhouse is palpable. At least it is when I watch the Giants. If you believe in momentum, then 2-out hits with RISP matter. I have watched enough baseball to believe in both.

I will address the only baseball point you have attempted to make. And your point is bullshit. As usual. When Pence went down, we plugged in Blanco and he started regularly. It was the subsequent injuries to Pagan that muddied the water. If Panik were to go down, Tomlinson would take over, just as he did towards the end of last season. When Belt went down, Posey slid over to 1B and Susac caught before he got hurt. Cal brought up a valid point that was cleverly masked within a catchy headline. It is you that is talking nonsense and acting childish by bringing this shit to the main board. .
