I realize that. Did you read what I wrote? Look at his regular season stats for us once he was traded for. He got blown up once if I recall but otherwise was a beast down the stretch.

That's different (and debatable) than saying he was why you won the World Series, which is what you said.

Peavy ERA while with SF last season: 2.17

Peavy WHIP while with SF last season: 1.04

He took a no-hitter into the 8th last season as well. I'm not blowing smoke up your ass here. He showed up to play once he was traded.

What I said was that without him, we don't get the Wild Card. Without the WC, there was no ring.

I stand corrected. :suds:

:suds:

Trust me, Peavy is what he is...but I also need to give the dude credit when he shows up. Same with Zito. Zito earned his spot in SF Giants lure beyond his terrible contract by being a great teammate and pitching the most clutch game of his career when the Giants were on the brink of elimination on their way to the 2012 ring. Peavy will be seen by many Giants fans as the shot in the arm the team needed as Hudson and Cain were falling apart towards the middle to end of the season last year.

LOL all you want, without him, we don't get the WC last season and don't get that ring. He was NAILS down the stretch. Maybe the Pads can learn a thing or two from him about executing when called upon. :finger:
True, he was, but he started to struggle after his first post season performance and he was downright bad this season before they DL'd him. I've lost confidence in him. Vogelsong and Lincecum have been pleasant surprises but can they sustain it?

That's fair, but if injury played a part in his performance, then based on what he gave us last year, we owe it to him an opportunity to succeed or fail with a somewhat short leash. Maybe I'm off base, but if I had a choice between Peavy and Heston, I would give the nod to Peavy and let him earn his spot..or not.

I think that's exactly what Bochy will give him and that would be fair.

With tonight's 4-3 victory over the Padres, coupled with a 1-0 loss by the Giants to the Diamondbacks, the Dodger's magic number is now in double digits.

There is nothing better then being a hardcore, homegrown Giants fan living in LA while Los Gigantes kick the shit out of Los Doyers repeatedly. After today's game, they would be 9-2 against the Dodgers this season. If only they could beat the rest of the fucking division...

I don't think the Giants get the WS in 2012 without Zito's pitching that season, with a couple of the other starters struggling that year. Lincecum was one who struggled, cant remember who the other one was.

Any DBacks fans here?

What's up with the Touki trade? Top 5 prospect for the Diamondbacks and was throwing well this year without using his curve ball at all (Idea from the organization to develop his changeup/fastball command) and he had incredible numbers thus far. So they trade him to shed Arroyo's contract essentially? This is a steal for Atlanta.

Yeah I was surprised to see Touki go and even more surprised someone actually took Bronson from us. Not sure what the thinking was but LaRussa is in charge now so I'll wait a couple years before I judge.

The Giants team bus left Bruce Boche at Dodger stadium the other night. Is this in some way prophetic? Will the Boch get his wish to return home to the Padres soon?

Murphy is an asshole. Literally the only two people in the world Tony Gwynn didn't like were Curt Schilling and Murphy and now he's manager of the Padres. :L
