As a Giants fan, I want to say that Matt Duffy should be in the discussion along with Heston. They have both been HUGE for the Giants this year, and Giants season would be over if not for their contributions.

But realistically, I am not sure either deserve any votes at all. This year's rookie class is STACKED!

Joc Pederson will receive quite a few MVP votes, let alone ROY. His BA sucks, but he still has a .366 OBP. Classic example of why BA is an antiquated stat.

Even if you look just at 3B, there is Kris Bryant and Maikel Blanco.

If there were a separate award for Rookie Pitcher, I think it would be a fight between 3 pitchers; Heston, DeSclafani and Syndergaard.

There are probably 8 different rookies in the NL this year that could win the award in just about any other season.

Great rookie race in the NL this year, Bryant I think wins it.

I don't know if I'd go that far. Past 5 NL ROYS have been: Jacob DeGrom, Jose Fernandez, Bryce Harper, Craig Kimbrel and Buster Posey. Thats a good list.

Pederson's the CF version of Adam Dunn... only without the godawful defense.
