I hope that’s his next stop and they replace him with Turnbull who had a sub 2 ERA when he opened the season for an injured Walker. Those were his numbers through like 5-6 starts. I think it’s been the Phillies giving him a chance to fail and leave no doubt with the decision.

He's an innings eater. A Joe Blanton type, if you will. He'll at least keep them in games. They won most of his starts last year. Definitely overpaid for that role but it is what it is. But if they make the playoffs with everyone else in the rotation healthy, he's the guy you leave off the postseason roster.

Yeah they could have rode his hot start a while longer to see if he could continue but I'm sure he'll get some more chances to start throughout the year. The good news is if you look at the 5th and 6th starters of most other teams we are in great shape.

Braves don’t have a 5th starter in their rotation basically, they miss Strider - Sale/Fried/Lopez/Morton have been good overall but no one has stepped up in the slightest to fill the 5th rotation spot
And the hitting continues to disappoint - everyone but Ozuna has been underwhelming.

8 games up on June 6th is just silly. It’s absurd for a team that’s traditionally been a slow starter.

The Braves offense fucking sucks right now. Every hitter on the team not named Marcell Ozuna has been extremely disappointing - Austin Riley has been awful, Olson has been very underwhelming, the outfield is extremely mediocre without Acuna, who was having a down year anyway. I’m kind of surprised we are a few games in front in the Wild Card race - our pitching has carried us for the most part, which I didn’t see coming. I’m getting fed up watching such mediocre play from a geam that should be better.
