Speaking of Matheny, why isn't Fowler being DL'ed? He was still limping yesterday, and with only 24 players available vs the Brewers seems to be a disservice to the rest of the team.....More ego stroking here, imo

the Cubs are coming into Pittsburgh at the right time. The Pirates are in a freefall. the Pirates need to win todays game
or else the fan base is going to get ready for Steeler training camp.

Good question? Maybe Matheny thinks that Fowler is such a great hitter he can use him in a pinch hitting role late in the game, LOL.

Javier Baez has 6 walks in 41 PA this year and is on pace for 88. He had 45 in 958 PA from 2016-17. Meanwhile, Joey Votto has 2 walks in 48 PA. Gotta love April.

And Baez hasn't drawn a walk since I posted this. Lmao.

They are 10 - 2 that last 12 games and have won 5 series in a row, hopefully they can get the 6th series tonight. The bull pen is the best in baseball and they have been playing well with making many changes to the teams roster. One reason for a bit of the lead is that they have 4 or 5 more games played than many teams having the domed stadium earlier in the season when many games were snowed or rained out in the cold weather. Fingers are crossed that it can continue as Brewer fans have not been able to say they have the best record in the National League very often. Just keeping fingers crossed as when this sort of thing has happened in the past it has not lasted.

An interesting stat from yesterdays game was that all 8 of the Brewers runs came after 2 outs so that is a bit different

still not sold on the Brewers starting pitching. The 4.21 ERA doesn't look too bad, but their FIP/xFIP are about a half run higher. not a single one of their starters have an FIP or xFIP below 4. Getting Nelson back could provide a boost, but he might struggle for a bit given how long he's been out.

Your Brewers had a very successful road trip recently and they haven't slowed down since they got back home. You should be proud of your team because they are playing very good baseball right now.
