Not many pitchers sustain for long (2-3 years) on the back end of a bullpen. It's high stress.

Then I think it is time to give Oh a chance. He seems to not get flustered.

Being a Reds fan, the word "closer" applies to the guy who is carrying the lid to the coffin.

Just endured another bash-fest at GABP.
Would like some thoughts on this:
Kris Bryant whacks a double in the first inning, hits a home run into the upper deck his second time up, blasts another long one his third time up, then gets a double.
When did baseball teams decide that somebody who is clearly kicking their ass doesn't deserve to have one whiz under his chin? Instead, well ... shit ... let the guy bonk another home run.
I seriously doubt the traditional pitchers would not at least send a message.
Then again, it's assuming Reds pitchers are capable of doing that. I can see the inside pitch ... 88 that drifts back over the plate. Well, crap!

Bryant accumulated 0.6 WAR for last night's performance alone and now leads the NL at 3.9. He's seen his ISO rise from .213 in 2015 to .289 this year, ranking among the best sluggers in the league (5th in MLB behind Ortiz/Duvall/Bruce/Rizzo). Yep, Adam Duvall has been one of the best power hitters in the league.

Javier Baez with a grand slam in the 15th inning to make it 7-2 Cubs.

And now Pedro Strop is playing left field.

A losing month does seem pretty foreign. Maybe I'll call if a 'Padre' out of respect to San Diego's consistency.
Too lazy to manually look this up, but I wonder how many winning and losing months the Padres have had since 2012.

All impressive streaks come to an end. They deserve a :suds: rather than a :pound:

Cardinals just don't do the little things to close out games. I guess if you're a team playing for a wild card, a good road record isn't the worst thing in the world but they are definitely going to have to pick up their play to even make the wild card game.

Cardinals are the laughing stock of baseball.

Cards and Giants fans scream "...but Padres!"

Roidier needs some better juice.

With Bryant modeling for Express and Arrieta showing off his backside, cubs are getting cocky. Is there anything else I left out regarding this team?

Um, it was posted over at ESPN in the social media section beside the scores. And I just happened to come across the thing with Arrieta.

Cardinals and Pirates sweep their way into a meangful series. Hopefully the rain will be done by game time.
