Play-in game gives radio sports show hosts something to talk about for a day or two.
I would like to see the damned thing abolished and let playoff teams play in a playoff series.
Baseball never needed these gimmicks and Selig's legacy needs to be wiped clean ASAP.

Pretty cool to get to see these guys finally in the majors but his control has been shakey.

Nothing really new though. He has a walk rate of 4.3 in the minors. But 11.5 K/9 is pretty damn impressive as a SP. 10.6 in AAA, and he's very young for the International League.

Not sure why they didn't start him but got a single and scored in his first AB.
And amazingly the Pirates beat the Cubs and got a hit off of Arrieta!

Well, its was a REALLY nice early run. They are fading a lot sooner than the Cardinals did last year, though, IIRC.

Well, its was a REALLY nice early run. They are fading a lot sooner than the Cardinals did last year, though, IIRC.

The pitching falling apart mostly. They had a team ERA relative to most teams Aces until about the last 2 months of the season and their ERAs ballooned. Cardinals were the 100 win team everyone wanted to play going into the playoffs.
