Per couple reports, Niners working very hard to re-sign Tarell Brown. I guess he is second priority after Boldin who already re-signed...While Brown is not great, he is good, and has been our best CB since 2012 until his rib injury this past season. If he gets a similar deal to that of Brock, I wont complain.

It sounds like he wants more money than Brock. He's good as gone in that case.

Brown is 29 years old? Hopefully a short term thing and long term gets addressed thru the draft

I don't see Brown going for short-term. He's still basically in his prime, he's arguably the best CB on the market, and this is probably his last shot at a big contract. He's already out like $1.5 million from last year's practice snafu - though he may recoup at least some of that. He's going to want at least a three or four-year deal. I wouldn't mind bringing him back, and giving him a bit more than Brock, but I don't know that I'd be willing to pay what he's likely to want.

That said, if we re-sign him, we can definitely walk away from Rogers. Either way, I'd still like to draft a CB high in this draft.

TB and Whit are two days from market. It is looking like some other team will pay for them.

tough year to be a FA CB...this draft is full of them so they might not get the $$$ they are looking for.

Brown is serviceable. I wouldn't mind having him back. I'd like to see what Culliver looks like in that spot though back from his injury

You probably still would because Brown could kick inside and cover the slot.

Right now I think I would rather have Culliver and Brock on the outside and Morris on the slot. He is fast and shifty as hell. He looked real good when he played too. Cant teach 4.33 speed and the guys he will be covering run just like that. His only bad thing was he is only 5'9". But so are the guys he will be defending there.

Then I would draft a rookie in the top 2 rounds to develop and Colvin late in the draft to red shirt him. Then corner would be set for years.

That's along the lines of my thinking.

Ya, I think those three would make a serviceable group of Corners.

You can never have enough good CB's.. It's a passing league and teams need corners to line up against three receiver sets or even four wideouts. Brown will get compensated and I don't blame him trying to get as much as he can. This could be his last big contract.
