very fun team to watch in the NFL. It is a nice change of scenary, because to me the 49ers look like a team that genuinely wants to win the game and shows the most heart and passion for the game. The atmosphere the 49ers express is almost like a college football feel. Just overall enjoyable to watch and I hope San Fran can go far into the playoffs. Can't wait to see them face the likes of the Packers to see how they hold up, but I think under Harbaugh this team just finds a way to win football games and they have that 'refuse to lose' attitude.

Must be exciting for you guys to see your team back near the top of the NFC again as there were several down years there. I can't wait to see just how far this team can go this year. But at the very least, no matter how this year turns out you guys are set for the future.

Question for OD - how's the market in Oregon, would they support an NFL franchise? Would they get the fan base, financial support, etc.? Just curious.

Thx. I like how you mentioned the "refuse to lose" attitude. In past years we kept hearing how we just didn't know "how to win".

market for NFL? I think it could surface most certainely. This discussion usually comes up a few times each offseason. If we had a team it would most definately need to be around the Portland area. Which I think could pull in fans as you look at Pittsburgh and Portland isn't much different in size.

Oregonians will support their team, hell MLS soccer somehow skyrocketed here this past season and no one thought they would draw or survive much. But you look at the Blazers, they might not have the biggest market, but they most certainely have one of the most passionate fanbases in the sport. I think NFL would do the same.

The only question that has come up besides all the financial and political aspects is, would people adopt the team as their "own" because there are so many relocated fans in the area of other teams, and unlike other sports, your football team becomes more then just a team to you in so many ways, it becomes your life, a religion to follow. So the question would be, would that Steeler, Packer, Bears, Patriots, Giants, Jets, etc. fan all of a sudden drop their team and follow the new Portland team?

If Florida can have 3 teams, I don't see why Oregon can't have one. In fact, if I was in charge I'd move the Jags to either Utah or Portland.

I hope with all the success and "attention" thus far, we would be in line for a few PRIMETIME matchups(preferrably sunday nights!)

If you are not a fan of the team I'd imagine they'd be a fun team to watch. For diehard fans the games are torture

That would be nominally cool (if they kept the name) to have the Utah Jazz and the Utah Jags (or Jagz). During the overlap of the NFL and NBA season when someone said how about those Jags, a Utahn would have to clarify which sport.

As a Cowboys I like seeing the 49ers being among the class of the NFC. Seeing teams like the Seahawks, Cardinals, Falcons, Panthers, etc in the playoffs just doesn't seem right. Looks like y'all are a lock for the playoffs this year. We still gotta beat out NYG for a spot but hopefully we make it so we can beat y'all again! :usa2:

There is no team i would rather play in the playoffs then the Dallas Cowboys. Can't wait for the re-match.

I think we're a much better team then we were when we played them the first time. I'd rather play the Cowboys then the Giants again.

So are we! Murray only had 6 carries that game. I think it's a great match-up and I hope it happens again. The 49ers and Packers are the two non-divisional NFC teams I always look forward towards.

Of the tough NFC teams the 49ers have played so far, the Lions, Cowboys, and the Giants. Im not so sure the 49ers will play any of them again in the Playoffs.
I have a feeling the only way the 49ers see the Cowboys or Giants again is if they knock off the Packers though.. because it looks like the 49ers will get the 2nd seed with the Saints getting the 3rd seed. With Cowboys/Giants getting the 4th seed, so if those teams advance they'll go to Green Bay and the 49ers will likely get the Saints as they advance past the Bears.

Any team we would face in the playoffs will be a good team regardless.... I hope Chicago finds its way to the Stick or the Lions for that matter..... but the likes of NYG, NO, maybe Dallas(if they finish strong) are the likiest of contenders we'll face in our first game.

Oh no doubt about it. Romo had one of his best games of the season against us and Murray has been playing very solid football. Yet another proof that you can draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th round and they can have immediate success. Hopefully we meet again in the playoffs. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Jason Whitten make a formidable group of receivers and Tony Romo can be very effective when he goes up against a team that does not put pressure on the passer. They have a good pass rush themselves and that type of team always gives the 49ers trouble.

Jagz- that's funny! Utah is a good football state, but the biggest issue is that most games are played on Sunday. When half the population is Mormon and has an issue with going to a game on Sunday- there would be problems filling the stands on a regular basis.

Depends. Say the NFC seeding goes like this:
1. GB
2. SF
3. NO
4. NYG/DAL
5. DET
6. ATL

ATL goes to NYG/DAL, and DET goes to NO. The Lions beat the Saints and the Giants/Boys beat the Coons.

That puts NYG/DAL at SF.
