Well, I'll just close with this: y'all's QBs have been sucking since Peyton's second to last year, so it's no wonder they couldn't figure out how to work Vannett into the offense more efficiently.

True because all the other 6 years of his career his career high of 29 catches is amazing!

Dude has 75 career catches in 6 years.. I am not saying the guy can't play in the NFL but come on dude! Quit acting like he was some special TE held back because of our spotty QB play. Vannett played for us for 1 season so that fact that our other QB's post Manning era have sucked is irrelevant. Take him back. Write a letter to Seattle... I doubt they will listen though since they traded him away the last time they had him. Vannett was really drafted to be a blocking TE and he is a decent blocker but let's not overdo his pass catching ability here.

Agree that it didn’t take him long to find a new team. I think it shows he has value in the NFL but obviously not a lot of value for Denver.

Vannett posted his second most receptions in his career in Denver. A whopping 14. I don’t think it has anything to do with how he was used. He has been on 3 teams in 6 years. He has some value as a blocker but not at 2.25 m. Saints are in need of an experienced TE after losing two. They have Trautman going into his second year who will develop into their pass catching TE. Vannett makes sense for the Saints but not because we missed the boat on him. He is what he is. This makes it so the Saints don’t have to spend a draft pick on a blocking TE who still needs to develop.

Remember Beck was our FB before he went down injured last year. We traded Jano. We turned Beck into an h-back. When he went down we gave Fumagalli that role.
