Not sure if anyone else has spotted this site. The business side of hockey, as many of you know from me over the last 15 whatever years, is what fascinates me quite a bit.

Thus (confession time), I was in the middle of planning a site similar to Cap Geek but one that would be more user friendly but just as if not more comprehensive.

In my research I found General Fanager:

Home | General Fanager

I like it overall, minor improvements I would make, but in the mean time it is excellent.

are you still planning to make a site even though you found this? If so I don't know what help I could possibly provide but I would love to try somehow.

Yes, still will develop mine. Cap Geek was awesome but I thought could use some improvements.

The basic concept of mine is to put the information at the control of fans, where information could be uploaded. It would be an open concept like Wikipedia where users can add information as they find it.

I'm not as well connected in the NHL world as I used to be (several agents were contacts of mine, management and staff on various NHL teams, some players, etc.) because of life and a family so this is a collaborative effort from the NHL fans all over the world to help each other out.

Of course you'll get jackballs who know nothing and want to seem important, so I will develop some sort of verification method - on the user and the contract information - so we're not getting bunk information. That will all be developed in time.

I'll keep you posted and yes, I can use all the help I can get!

At NHL numbers you can go back years to see what the players made last year and prior years. Capgeek and this new site doesn't do this. This is a feature your new site can have.

That was one of the things I wanted to incorporate. I have records as far back as 1992 but it's in a spreadsheet. I will have figure out how to get that in there.

USA Today of all places has a pretty good database, I was getting information here well before NHL Numbers and Cap Geek:

USA Today | Sports | NHL

Not many people knew about this but you can look up guys like Palffy for example by going back to 2000-01. It was a great resource at a time when we didn't have a lot of information available and one of the better features of their site back then.
