I have no choice but to elevate the Preds in the standings after the week I spent in Nashville during the playoffs. This team will rediscover its identity now that the Alex Radulov experiment is over and, while Ryan Suter's loss is significant, the Preds draft and develop like nobody's business. There's always something coming. They remain Cup contenders in my eyes.

The Flames are not winnin' for Mackinnon...

Well if there isn't a season & they go by the same rules they did last time the Oilers shouldn't have much of a chance to pick 1st four years in a row. Of course the downside is the Blue Jackets have both the Kings & Rangers 1st round picks. They could end up picking 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall!!

Yes, 1 team could end up with MacKinnon, Jones & Monahan. That would be sick.

looking back at week 1 first.. gotta love burnside's drivel over the pens as usual.. most formidable offensive lineup, ya know, the one that got out-scored in a series full of shootouts a couple months ago.. sheesh..

It's hilarious that the teams are changing position week-to-week. Buffalo jumped 13 spots this week...based on what I don't know.

I hear Miller had a great scrimmage at one of the unofficial workouts last week (hence this week's Vezina talk).

That and he has a really hot wife. Burnside forgot to account for that in the week 1 rankings.

different guy wrote them.. lebrun did week 2, burnside did week 1.. they did that last year and it kinda throws you off because, as you can see, they have very different opinions haha

Here's a guide that I use:

LeBrun - knows his stuff
Burnside - has trouble putting his pants on in the morning

hahahaha, i try to follow a similar train of thought, but not so eloquently worded as that.. :pizza:

still kinda annoying to see teams jump around like they do.. not sure why disney does it this way.. probably because they like to bring bad coverage to the masses.

I immediately thought of this old Calvin and Hobbes when reading that.

Holy fuck; the Leafs jumped 4 spots. This team could really surprise during the lockout. Maybe this is Burkes niche -- no games lockout hockey.

It's now been over 3 months and the Parise/Suter combo has still accounted for zero goals or assists over this time. I can't believe the Wild are ranked that high.

Nathan MacKinnon would look good in a Jackets uniform next June.

Yeah, but who do the Jackets have to trade to Edmonton for the pick?

If their is any silver lining in no NHL season, it might be that the Jackets (and Flames) would have a very good shot at the No. 1 overall pick (that is, if they follow the same procedure they did in 2005).
