I've been away, can someone update me on the hundreds of Islanders trades and FA signings that obviously have taken place...
-Fully expect Parise on the roster soon.
- And come on now, I mean extending Pelech and resigning Greene seeled the cup finals for the Isles!
- I am guessing they are waiting on re-signing Cizikas until his price becomes realistic?
- And another Matt Martin extension will occur. :D

i know there has been back and forth as to proper treatment plan, but the optics of waiting all summer to go in for surgery right before training camp is something.

Assuming the surgery he's getting is the one he wanted it definitely says a lot more about the Sabres' stupidity than anything else here.

But it doesn't hurt either party much in the end. If Eichel can play the second half of the season he's still worth as much as he would be healthy today.

July 24, 2021: With six picks in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Islanders selected forward Aatu Raty (second round, 52nd overall), goaltender Tristan Lennox (third round, 93rd overall), forward Cameron Berg (fourth round, 125th overall), forward Eetu Liukas (fifth round, 157th overall), defensemen Aleksi Malinen (sixth round, 189th) and Tomas Machu (seventh round, 221st).

8 years?? Only thing I can think .. maybe he loves St Louis

I'm not sure what it is, but a lot of former players stay in the St. Louis area after their playing careers are over (and not just hockey players). I was in St. Louis for about 8 months in 1998 (the year McGuire and Sosa had their HR chase) and I went to about five Cards game hoping to see Mac hit one live and nope, never saw a Mac big fly lol

Could be a "okay, I like it here and think we have a shot again but if it goes to shit this deal can still be traded" kind of thing.

Unlike some of the other deals recently given.

could also be pointing to cap friendly -
"we need up to $1.5 for Robert Thomas. you can have everything else, for however long you want it for."
