Too many men being the most obvious. Knocking a guy down I can see ignoring, but that too many men was badddd.

Big W there. That had more of a throwback Pens-Caps feel to it than the past few...probably because there were goals and lots of penalties.

I think it had more to do with one side absolutely dominating those first two.

Well, yeah, those shut outs weren't great games. I think the last one was great too, but it wasn't a Pens/Caps type game. Staunch D and goalie duel. Not sure there's ever been a time in this rivalry where that happened, hah.

Edzo mentioned some of the guys that were on the ice and it was a bit of a head scratcher. Fehr was on (but he's net front, right? And scores vs. Pens), Burakovsky, Kuznetsov. Now, I'm not a Caps expert, so I could be off on some of that, but any of those guys in place of Backstrom is weird to me.

...because I was thinking the same thing at the end of the game. It just looked very similar. I was surprised how open OV was at the end of this one, honestly. I was just waiting for him to put it him. Sigh... oh well.

I still think this Caps' team is very well built for the playoffs this year.

Speaking of OV and Crosby, I always thought OV was the better player from 05-09 and Crosby the better since '10-14, but for the first time in a long time, I feel confident in posting the following...

OV > Crosby

I really don't like comparing the two. They're so different. On the scale you have

Playmaker--------------------median-------------------------Sniper

Crosby.............................(Malkin sort of) ............................. OV

Just...different. Both are capable of doing both things of course, but especially as time has passed, they've merely separated more.

To add to that though: in their own respective "games", OV is having a better season, yeah. It does still crack me up that Sid's bad year involves being a few points out of scoring lead.

They are hard to compare for sure, but I'd lean towards the guy with more goals. Plus Ovie has cleaned up his defensive game to at least acceptable, that goes a long way.
