If I'm not mistaken, Cory Schneider is setting a Devils franchise record by starting his 20th consecutive game tonight.

/I don't think I have to tell you who held the previous record for the Devils, do I?

Apparently Lucic got a game misconduct for throwing his glove and possibly making contact with an official.

Maybe that's what Julien was grousing about.

How did Glenn Hall start 502 consecutive games between the pipes? That's like 8 and 1/2 seasons. Talk about a record that will never be broken.

Especially impressive when you consider the majority of goalies that make it to the National don't get 502 starts total...

you also don't have to tell us that Marty has his lowest save% in 15 years in that season he was so massively overused.

That was beautiful.

I especially loved how Julien was complaining that Lucic didn't even have his gloves off. I guess ol' Charlie Brown missed the chicken shit punch to the back of Prout's head.

Plus, when the fist comes like an Amtrak train, you don't have time to react and get the gloves off.

Prout had a hell of a game.

I'll take the point. Positive signs tonight, but still a ways to go. But getting a point when Bobrovsky forgets how to goalie in the third, that is good.

Well that I just don't believe.

Johnny Boychuk, what a freaking gem. Was hit by Downie on one end awkwardly, decides to try to take out Geno's knee away from the puck a shift later. No PPs for the Pens all game (only one for the Isles all game, actually), and not really many egregious missed calls, but geeeeez...

Try watching a Sens game sometime.

Ever since Peter Schaefer waved a white flag to the refs in 2004 the officials have farked the Sens. It's been brutal.

Lesson: never embarrass a ref, no matter how wrong he is. The more obvious the embarrassment, the more brutal the punishment from refs.

I'm not sure what the Pens may, or my not, have done but it may have something to do with it. NHL refs are the most biased, and personal, refs in professional sports.

Johnston is doing his best to rectify that. In the postgame presser he was asked about it, and in his typical unemotional professor-ly fashion said he thought it was a well reffed game (it really was outside of that play), etc.
