Zac, rest your vocal chords, mmmkay? Sound like a plan?

If he doesn't get ten for both the action and the comments, something is wrong. He's essentially mocking the whole system. "Did I illegally take a guy out? Hell yes, and we won because of it."

That quote should up the suspension, if the NHL actually cared about cleaning up the garbage in the league, but they don't, so it won't.

Yeah, he pretty much just admitted his intent, or at the very least refuted any possibility for remorse. There's no ambiguity left now.

@BroadStBull: Rinaldo said he would take the league's suspension decision "with a grain of salt."

OH MY GOSH HOW STUPID IS HE.

Lifetime ban? I mean, suspensions are supposed to teach players lessons, right? Well, if the player openly admits he won't learn that lesson, another method should be used.

Yep, might as well suspend him for the season now.

On Cooke and others, they have implicitly admitted they won't learn their lessons, so they should also be kicked out forever, as far as I'm concerned. But I mean, Rinaldo's not even leaving it to reading into subtlety of any sort. He's telling the league he won't change his dangerous play, in actual words.

Rinaldo: "I hit him in the back of the shoulder. The power of my hit made his head hit the glass. I didn't hit him from behind."

I know that this was probably all in a short amount of time, but how no PR person swoop in and shut him up.

Wow I can't believe ANYONE in the Flyers org didn't tell Rinaldo to just shut up.

Anyway lets hope this means his next team will be in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey.

Question: "Do you feel that it (an ejection) was warranted in this case?" Rinaldo: "What do you mean, warranted?"

He doesn't have brain cells.

He has brain cells. He just doesn't have enough in the cognition and good decision making regions.

a real punishment would be forcing the flyers to play him 15 minutes a game. the flyers PR folks were probably laughing at him while he up'd his suspension.

I don't like cheap shots. but I love the circus that follow flyers/pens games. Typically lots of goals, tons of emotion, a handful of fights. There's nothing more entertaining in the sports world than a flyers/pens game.

Wait...is Pronger in charge of his suspension?

This is the important fact here. A guy in the department responsible for punishment is under contract with the team that this POS Rinaldo plays for. The integrity of the entire process is completely non-existent. Nothing the league can do in this instance will be sufficient.

Oh, but wait, this is what the NHL has already said:
In October 2014, Chris Pronger signed a contract with the NHL to assist its Player Safety Division, although he is excused from any decisions directly affecting the Flyers, with whom he still remains under a player contract.

See? It's all okay guys! *wink wink*.

At least I have the opportunity to boo Bettman in person this weekend. Fucking rat.

And if Pronger winds up coming, I will take every opportunity I have to scream obscenities at his ass too.

I'm all for Rinaldo hate, but are you guys serious? Am I the only one that interprets the "Changed the game, man" quote as tongue in cheek? Doesn't anyone notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

even if it is tongue in cheek he's making light of the situation which I'm sure the NHL won't appreciate.

At best he doesn't think it's serious enough to not joke about it, at worst he's serious and thinks he did a good job. Either way the NHL doesn't like it.

I guess that means they have to find someone else to give the wheel a good spin then, huh?
