I hate this type of hockey with the passion of a million burning suns. It's idiotic. Rindaldo being a prick started it. Now every hit must be met with a fight, and then fights with more fights. Scuderi threw a perfectly fine hipcheck, after hurting his eye previously, and Vorachek attacked him. Then Downie lost his mind again. It's not freaking hockey, it's a sideshow. Play the effing game.

I pretty much agree but since it's already a sideshow shouldn't there be a goalie fight thrown in for good measure?

BTW: I think that Del Zotto hit was worse than the Rinaldo one, outside of the resulting injury.

Del Zotto and hit....thats an oxymoron....unless of course he was on the receiving end...

The mentality that surrounds the Flyers astounds me. Even in the media. They're "sticking up for each other". Yeah, so far we've had one surefire suspendable offence, one borderline one, and a million fights, only one of which actually followed a Flyers player being penalized.

I think all Flyers fans would agree that Zac Rinaldo should be a goner ASAP - nobody likes him and he continues to act like a deranged child

I don't mind fights like the one that Jake had against Rob Scuderi(even know the hit was pretty clean I think), I understand it and I like it

I think in these games, both sides(Steve Downie leading the pack for the Penguins) tend to forget how to hockey and just fight and do stupid things because of the rivalry - guys who normally don't fight are fighting too

Besides the dirty stuff and some of the obvious staged stuff, I don't mind the rest of it - that's why I love this rivalry

Downie is the only Penguin who stepped out of line, there's been a handful of Flyers playing like idiots. It's aged, old school, crap. There's no need or place for it in a great game. The Pens and Flyers have played plenty of good games without it.

Carcillo has already set the bar. When you've got a guy getting his 9th suspension getting off comparatively easy, how can they possibly throw the book at Ronaldo? Sure he's done more than his fair share of dirty shit, but not 9 suspensions worth.

I have this sneaking suspicion that Rinaldo DOESN'T UNDERSTAND what constitutes as dirty/cheap.
