Ties suck.
Playoff OT is pretty much the best thing in sports. Absolutely thrilling sports really.Especially playoff hockey. And then it's 5 on 5. And many times they go on for an extra 20-40 minutes.
Which proves why for regular season 3 on 3 is needed. But a pt has to be awarded for losing

It's just asking too much during the regular season. But no ties is the important thing. Three on three isn't ideal, but it's a means to an end.
Goalies have to love the nothing to lose aspect, Id think. No doubt about the trill. It's truly death watching a playoff OT hockey game that you have an emotional investment in. Wild have been on the good(sorry mebert) and bad side of those. It's potentially an entire extra period or more of not being able to breathe. Back and forth chances.
3 on 3 provides entertainment and is simply better than a SO which is better than a tie. It was added to reduce shootouts and it worked. Pretty sure it's been a unanimous success around hockey. Even goalie acknowledge it.
Our Lions usually manage to lose in regulation.Ties are much to anticlimatic for the most exciting team sport on the planet. How come I have never seen you complain about NFL OT?

We've gone for speed lately in Detroit(I'm talking recently as in weeks or days)and that will need to work in OT down the stretch or its gonna suck. Lol
