I would guess most would say Ovechkin but if you promised me I get Cindy for 80 games a year and he's healthy for the playoffs I take Crosby.

I would assume both players are healthy all year long for this vote. I feel when ever Crysby has played Ovechkin that he has done better in the game (from the games I have seen).

That's my thing. If you ignore Crosby being a goddamn pussy he's just so complete.

Ovechkin is definitely the more popular choice especially among more casual fans.

I've also been someone who values skill/playmaking but it's a legit either or question and if Ovie nails down a title this year it becomes even more of a question.

Great question. I hate Crysby and love Ovi because I am a homer. I believe Ovi has the better numbers but cant confirm this right now because NHL Pro Reference isn't loading right now for me.

If we're talking strictly pts, it's Crosby by a pretty wide margin. Ovie isn't a high assist guy at all.

But there is more to it. And going with Ovechkin is perfectly reasonable.

Ovi - 956 pts, 440 assists, 516 goals, 1868 hits, 260 blks, 401 Takeways, 560 giveaways
Sid - 920 pts, 590 assists, 330 goals, 443 hits, 256 blks, 284 Takeaways, 413 giveaways

Ovechkin has 36 more pts in like 132 more games. Considering Crosby averages well over 1 pt per game. If they played the same amount of games he'd have at least 120 more pts(which is 1 full awesome season worth)

Different types of players though. That's why I asked the question. It's completely reasonable to choose Ovechkin.
