Also: The TJ Oshie/Sochi thing is getting a bit annoying. He's a solid NHL player, but not a superstar. Pretty sure I'd choose every other guy on that list before him.

No, but it finally let the world and casual NHL fans, know how good of a player he is. Not he's a Superstar, but he is a very good player.

And I hope Bergeron or Doughty win since they're 2 of my favorite players in the league!

I might have already mentioned this, but in my team's locker room a week or so after the Olympics ended he was referred to by someone as a "national hero". And I just couldn't help myself... "Oh yeah you know it, I mean you guys never would have finished in 4th place without him!"

Who knew a relatively meaningless round-robin game could be made into such a big deal?

Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for his performance. It was brilliant and fun to watch. But yeah, the dude is cashing in on it now. I like what he brings (although I don't like playing him), but he's not an elite guy in the league (yet).

Doc and Edzo are doing commentary on this game, btw. I'm sure there are some THRILLED Wings fans. I still remember that series last year and the complete homer Edzo became with penalties, haha.

Ray Ferraro is in the game as the between the benches guy, I do like that - but I wish they'd keep Edzo out of the game - I've always believed that three people doing a game is too much - not enough time during the game to have three people talking at any point

49th in the league in scoring, 7th among forwards on his own team in Corsi. He's a good player, but in all honesty who really gives a shit? I suspect that there's a decent chance he'll go his entire career without even appearing in an All-Star game.

I don't think he planned it that way or even intentionally did it. He was brought in for his great work in the SO and his defensive play. He's a good player, the nickname game about on Twitter, hell I called him it as soon as he made 2 in a row. National hero? No way, but damn proud that he was apart of our team.
