Great, just when college football is finally starting to fix their postseason up a bit, we get this news; and you just know the owners of mediocre teams are going to be behind this crap, just so their team will make the Playoffs.

It's about money - simple. More games means more money for the NFL and players. The only downsides that I see are:

More 'meh' teams in the playoffs.

The #2 seed loses the bye week.

I guess not much we can really do to affect this other than by boycotting a #2/#7 match up in the Playoffs. I suppose it could happen, depending on how compelling the match up was. If the #7 was sub.500 or 8-8, I think they might actually drop because a lot of people will assume it will be a blowout.

they would not. the gap between #2 and #7 is not that large in this league. this is not the NBA.
