That would be as big a waste as putting Dorsey as a 3-4 end in KC. I don't know why teams keep wanting to do this. Also you'd more than likely have to trade into the top 5 to get him. I don't think you are gonna do that.

I don't know about top 5, but I've been saying for a while that GMs are going to be smarter than mock draft makers and take Richardson in the top 10 (12 at the latest).

And no, I wouldn't want to trade up to the top 10 to get him. The only 2 guys on whom I have my eye to trade up into the teens (or 20's) are Hankins or Jarvis Jones. And every time I think about it, the more I want to jump off the Hankins bandwagon (which would be dangerous because I'm driving it) and start a trade-up-for-Jarvis-Jones campaign (if he's still there around 14 or so).

I wouldn't mind a small trade up for Eifert though. I'd say Cooper too, but he's gonna be gone in the top 10 or so IMO.

Jones isn't falling out of the top 10 either.

There have been reports the Chiefs might take Richardson #1.

Sweet merciful crap!

Cornelius Washington: 6'4 265 4.5 flat w/ a 1.6 split, 36 rep's, 39 freeking vertical and 128 inch broad? I knew the guy was an acclaimed athlete, but wow.

There goes my hopes of landing him in the 4th round. :( Maybe the 3rd?

Ironically, he's working out with the LBs and I like him as a 3-4 DE to rotate in. He's really stout against the run.

prefer we don't give what it takes to reach "#14 or so"? especially since there is not franchise QB, nor pass rusher.

early twenties is possible, but #14 cost substantially more.

Washington would be ideal to give Brooks and Aldon a blow as a DE when we go 4 up front.

I try not to put too much stock into how a guy looks during the combine, but man, Johnathan Hankins looked sloooppppyyyy. Even by 320 pound man standards. He seemed to be huffing and puffing during the couple drills I saw, too.

I've heard alot about Hankins' conditioning in the past but he got in better shape this year, reportedly stuck to a diet, and the biggest thing is that he showed up BIG TIME in 4th quarters this season. In my notes I repeatedly noted that it appeared that he gets better in the 4th quarter. This year I didn't see him wear out in games.

His body is still somewhat sloppy but I don't see it as a huge issue? If I felt like his diet is under control and if his coaches and those around him would vouch for him that he's matured, then I'd feel pretty good about him.

Knowing what I know now and seeing what I've seen thus far, he's one of a few guys I'd try very hard to trade up for if I could. In fact, right now I WANT them to trade up for one or two of the following more than anything else:

Lacy (If GB or ATL get him it'll break my heart)
Hopkins
Warmack
Hankins

That's good, then. It doesn't matter how he looks if he's technically in good football shape. Like I said, I try not to pay it too much attention, but found it hard to ignore. I admittedly only saw two OSU games this year, but I don't remember my thoughts about his play.

I'll give you Hopkins and Warmack, and raise you Richardson and Austin.

We're too deep at RB to trade up for one, especially in a draft deep at the position, and I'm not big enough on Hankins to even think about a trade up for him.

Any of you guys know anything about AJ Klein? Curious to see some outside opinions on him.

He's actually my neighbor. It's really exciting hearing his family talk about the draft, getting an agent, the combine and all that stuff.

If the 49ers draft him, he'll be playing 3-4 end. Are you guaranteeing the 49ers won't draft him?

Unless you trade into the top 5 you aren't drafting him. And I highly doubt you are.

what do you think he(Mathieu) runs tomorrow in the 40? I put him between 4.40-4.45.. Also I think he may have a pretty crazy vert, close to 40"

He isn't going to wow at the combine as far as numbers go.

As small as Mathieu is, I am impressed he put up 4 reps. I expect him to get stronger over the next year or two. I think he'll put up good numbers in the running drills.

He hurt his knee today. At one point, there were reports that it was serious, but he came out and said he was okay. Apparently he will make up the rest of the drills at his pro day.

Thanks MHS.

This thread is hillarous because of this:

And Murphy wasn't even invited to the combine. Ha!

And I was "high" for thinking Devin Taylor isn't anywhere near as athletic as JJ Watt. :)

What was the rest of Taylors' numbers? He isn't as strong, that wasn't even a question.

By the way, I also said that Taylor sucked, don't try to make it look as if I said he was a good player. I was using him as an example of how much stock SHOULDN'T be put into the combine.
