I hope they get this deal done and it's fair for both sides.
I don't agree with the mentality that because the NFL makes a lot of money they should just give the officials whatever they want because that's not how you operate a smart business and look at how many cities and businesses are in trouble because of giving their employee's too much.
But on the flipside the NFL shouldn't be tightwads in the matter as well. These guys are a vital contributors to the quality of your product and should be compensated as such.
Man, I knew they were part time guys but didn't realize how much they make for being part time. Avg $149k? That is a comfy full time salary. However, their raise demands aren't that unheard of, as long as they make the guys full time and add some more accountability.
