Fellas,

I'm curious to learn which NFL players out there -- both active and retired -- have a "second job" during the offseason (or, if they're retired, what they're doing now).

For instance, Vernon Davis is heavily involved in fashion.

Keyshawn Johnson is an interior designer, and currently has a show on A&E.

What other football guys are making names for themselves in careers other than football?

Almost all retired football players go into private business... For instance Franco Harris, Mike Ditka, Jerome Bettis, John Elway, Eddie George, Mike Alstott, Vince Young (believe it or not), Joe Theismann, Brett Favre, and Dan Marino all own restaurants. I'm sure there are hundreds more that I didn't mention.

Also a lot of former NFL players own auto dealerships.

There is a player in St. Louis, can't remember the name, he works at a sandwich shop in the offseason to keep out of trouble.

Wait, so VD is into fashion and KJ interior design and someone said on another thread that gays are rare in the NFL... :laugh3:

I wouldn't say a lot persay but I think a lot of the big name guys do.

They open restaurants or bars. Some do a lot of public speaking.

Steve Young has a law degree. I don't know that he uses it though.

back in the 1980's, John Taylor from the 49ers sold new cars in the offseason at Ronnie Lott's dealership

Brad Culpepper, a former DL for the Bucs, is a lawyer. It is shocking the difference in size (he is on the left in the link)
