I don't disagree. BUT, trading a fourth for him might help the Patriots in securing a very good OL in free agency and the draft.

Right now, the Patriots don't have a strong argument to convince better than average players to come to Foxboro. We've discussed all of the negatives from an older stadium, taxes and undesirable weather, but they will have hard time selling Maye as an answer. Vrabel may be a similar draw like BB. He does have a bunch of guys that played for him in Tenn. that have said that they hope he looks their way.

Free Agency is where we will see what the players in the NFL think of Vrabel and the Patriots. If they think it's great new start and want to be onboard, we all might be very surprised. If they think it will suck, we'll be bitching because they couldn't get a right guard with six knee surgeries to sign.
Sure okay a 4th and a reasonable contract, I am okay with that.

Can't change the weather, RK won't change the location, and the politician's wont' change the rules. Based on that the Pats are eternally fucked? Why Krafdt won't petition to move the team to NH boggles my mind, he's got a good argument. We are the NE Patriots, NE is comprised of six states, NH is pretty much dead center to all of them. Move the team to NH build a nice stadium, use Gillette for soccer, concerts, etc. Issue is league would never okay this

Yeah all that being said, I still have no interest. And he is 6' where did you get 6'3"? There is a reason his 2024 numbers were subpar, what that reason is who knows?
"Samuel has spent his entire six-season career with the 49ers. Despite missing only two games due to injury in 2024, he was beginning to have a down year in terms of production. He secured 670 receiving yards, three touchdowns, 136 rushing yards, and one touchdown in 2024.

This production is a significant drop for Samuel, who secured 892 receiving yards, seven touchdowns, 225 rushing yards, and five touchdowns."
Hence the reason they are willing to part with him.

Samuel offers a bit more than your typical WR. His size and speed allows him to do the reverse a bit quicker and get beyond the line of scrimmage at a deeper angle. That and he's what 6'3"? He's bigger and faster than anyone presently on the Patriots except Pop, speed-wise. I'd take him over Bourne and Polk in a heartbeat. I wouldn't give up anything more than a fourth round pick.
But the guy is either finding the end zone or finding a gurney. He lacks the most important ability, avail-ability.

Well that's the obvious part.

What makes you feel that way?
Why do you feel the NFL would prefer the Pats play 25 miles south of Boston on 95 versus 50 miles north of Boston off 93?
I feel like the NFL would consider the fact NH is a tax free state that it would give the Pats an advantage they did not previously have.

Living in an area with high taxes usually comes with additional opportunities. New York City area teams have more potential for revenue than KC or Minneapolis. The tax status is only an issue because the cap doesn't account for it, and it should. Tax cap should be net of expected taxes... At those numbers there isn't a lot of variability of tax rates. The tax cap is meant to keep a level playing field but instead favors places without taxes or with low rates.

Texas, Florida and Nevada have no income tax. Not sure about Tennessee.

Kraft could easily buy Loudon Race Track and convert it to a domed or open stadium. The track has lost one NASCAR already and is under constant threat to lose the other one. It has limited seating of 50,000 on one side of the track. The owner owns a huge amount of surrounding acreage and NASCAR is pushing him to build 2.5 mile oval. It's pretty much a sure thing that they will move the race down south where there is a much deeper love of auto racing.

Kraft would get a huge tax break to build a stadium and the state would get the funds from the federal government to build and improve the access to a new stadium. Rte. 93 is being expanded to four lanes in both directions (N & S). Rte 89 is a straight shot from as far as Burlington, Vermont and Rte 101 is a straight shot from Maine and Portsmouth. He could build a 80,000 seat stadium and never have an empty one.

Plus..............................NH does not have a sales tax. Players would love playing and quite possibly living in NH. With the tax money saved, they could buy a second home where they could spend the off season.

I'm pretty sure they'd enjoy the team covering sales tax for them too.

Mass. has about an 8% income tax and an extra 4% on every million. I believe that their sales tax is 7.5%.

If you make $10,000,000, you state income tax is roughly $1,200,000.

Most players have to live ner where they play for about six months so they may cough up $10,000 in sales tax.

If the season ends in January, and your playing in NH, that $1.2M could buy a four bedroom three bath home with a swimming pool in Florida and you could pay all of your kids' college tuition with the other half million you'd have leftover. No reason to stay up there and shovel a foot snow like my grandson did yesterday.
