Yea the Steelers following in the Carolinas is really the most surprising to me. They're pretty big in Ohio but at least Pitt is close up there.

The Cowboys being the most popular in the Omaha area is somewhat suprising and a bit misleading IMO.

This market is divided between the Chiefs, Vikings, Packers and Broncos. If one were to combine the fan bases of any two of those other teams it wouldn't be close.

I would never have guessed they have approx 1/5th the market share here though.

Lot more Saints fans in Bama than I would have guessed. Figured it'd be mostly Falcon fans (like myself).

Yinzers retire to Charleston and Hilton Head. There are Steelers bars everywhere down there. Hell, there are two steelers bars in Isle of Palms alone (or there were in 2010).

Ahh okay I get it. I think that probably also explains that Packer county in Florida. Not sure how to explain Alaska, maybe there are a lot of WI transplants up there. Or maybe they just like the small town team.

That makes sense. I've seen a number of people around Columbia with the Steelers logo on the back of the truck.

The Chiefs have a surprising stretch of coverage. That's one patient area of the country, apparently.

Going to college in Nebraska, I thought most in Nebraska would consider them Chiefs fans. However, they are pretty much all about Huskers.

You know what else threw me off at first? No Raider counties in the "Bay Area." Then I looked up Alameda county, and even though Oakland is the biggest city with 390k, it's a pretty densely populated county. Fremont = 215K. Berkeley = 115K. Hayward = 144K. San Leandro = 85K. Livermore = 80K. Pleasonton = 70K. Union City = 70K.

So the Raiders probably own Oakland but the Bay Area is all 49er country. Interesting how the outlying areas go Raiders.

Before the Cardinals moved to AZ, 3/4 of the state would have been Cowboy Fans.

I think it is pretty well established that the three teams with the most national fanbase (because of transplants, kids, moving etc.) are in no particular order the Packers, Steelers and Cowgirls.

It sure looks like the Cowboys are in, but I'd say by the looks of that map the Broncos are a close second. Third is hard to say, unless you have the actual population of pack fans in Alaska.

On second look, the Cowboys are way ahead of the rest. Broncos are second, but it's not close.
