My first comment in this exchange was saying it was just the NFL practicing CYA when more testimony was in the news.

No. I'm making light of the fainting couch. There have been tons of awful humans that have played pro sports. You have one on your team you root for now. Deshaun Watson will be a bad person until he draws his final breath. I don't know how many times I can repeat that.

It still doesn't make this charade any less ridiculous. If the league felt he should be gone then make him gone. The independent arbitrator determined 6 weeks was sufficient. The NFL then determined 11. Punishment has been doled out. If you wanted a career ban (and he certainly earned it) they should've went for the dunk then.

Have to think all teams breathe a huge sigh of relief when camp starts and they get their players back. while most are probably good guys young, rich dudes with a lot of down time can be an issue.

OK...but what he did had to have come out after all these alleged incidents took place. The Florio story is pretty much made up. But I guess I get it as not a lot of football stuff for him to write about until FA.

This is not that. And I'd deserve every bit of grief if I so much didn't acknowledge Deshauns problematic behavior but if it was institutional to the sense Cleveland concealed his behavior...

I guess but a dozen teams went after the guy and it's likely more if more thought they could win now and needed a QB.

It was brought up earlier how LV dumped Ruggs right away (unlike the Browns who wanted Watson) but don't kid yourself (well, not you since you didn't mention it)...if he had a season like Nacua and was allowed to be in the league LV holds onto his rights.
