I don't believe Wilson is a phony but he gets that rap because every time he speaks publicly he's demeanor and what he says all feel like he's a politician running for office. I think that aspect is what rubs people the wrong way with him because you're just not connecting with him on a personal or human level if that makes sense.

As far as Kap goes I don't really care what he does off the field as long as he's not a total douche, driving under the influence, or it a negative impact on his performance on the field. So far I've haven't heard or read anything to suggest he's doing at that so it doesn't bother me one way or another.

I really don't think many Seahawks fans would argue if other fans called Wilson boring. He is a devout Christian and his personality you see in soundbites is who he is in every interview and every public meeting. He uses specific words like 'tremendous' all the time. You can predict exactly what he is going to say, but not because he is fake. He just isn't that dynamic of a speaker.

We don't care about how dynamic he is any more than it appears your fans are bothered by Kaepernicks antics outside of football or what the rest of the country thinks about him. I'm fine with that. But don't then diss all over Sherman for what he says outside of football either. You can't defend one kind of rather questionable behavior outside of the game and defend another. The same can be said for anyone who defends Sherman, but points out Kaepernick.

And I'm not saying you are, but plenty of your fans do.

First movement in the game's line has about half the sites going seattle -3.5 now so the early action is going our way. If my recollection of the concussion protocol is right it will be thursday at the earliest before we can get any definitive word on his status for the game. Is that about right? Meaning the heaviest action might come late week.

:laugh3: Wilson dresses and speaks like an adult and people call him fake.

Kraep wears other NFL team's hats and dresses and speaks like a thug and you guys couldn't care less. I don't blame you for taking your guy's side, but to call Wilson fake for just being a normal person is fucking stupid

I'm not calling Wilson fake I'm just saying that's the impression he gives people when he speaks in public since he comes off like he's a politician. I'm sure he's probably a cool guy to know and hang with in real life.

I don't take issue with Wilson off the field and in general I don't take issues with players unless their antics are sexual assault or endangering lives by driving while drinking or being high.

What players do with their free time and what they do with their money is none of my business and I don't care as long as you're ready to work when play time is over.

When it comes to Kap all I've heard about him are good things with him being well spoken, smart, hard worker, does charity work, liked by teammates, etc. The only noise being made about him is all due to his looks since he doesn't "look" the part that we consider what an NFL QB should look like. If he played any other position no one would be making a peep about how he looks.

Which QB would you be more likely to allow your daughter to date? Wilson
Which QB would you want to be with if you are going out to the club scene? Kaepernick
Which QB would you want to have as a neighbor more? That depends on if you want wild parties next door or a bible study.

It does seem we don't mind most players who thank god when on camera and all that, but when it's a QB we seem to have more issues with it as a society and in RW's case he really doesn't speak about it in his press conferences much.

Hanging out with him? Probably boring if you are a drinking kind of party dude. You'd likely fall asleep quick. If you like hearing an upbeat kind of person with real things to say? Well then yes, he's your guy.

I know Kaepernick does do some charity work and maybe its legit, but I'm sure far more people around the country find those efforts 'fake' than Wilson's comments to the media. Whether it's right or not Kaepernick comes off like a wannabe thuglife kind of guy. Doing anything unselfish doesn't fit that profile.

Not sure I agree. I'd be cracking all kinds of jokes about that punter that looks like Howdy Doody.

Kaepernick does charity work every year for children with heart defects, because his adoptive parents had biological children who passed away from that, many of his tattoos are bible verses. I don't have a problem with either quarterback and would be happy with either one on a personal level -- they both have their flaws and good points. I don't have a problem with Sherman yapping, I don't have a problem with Carroll celebrating too much on the sideline and I don't have a problem with Harbaugh's antics. 49er players like Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, and Frank Gore are some of the most humble quiet guys you will ever find with great personal back stories. Vernon Davis was completely embarrassed by Mike Singletary and now talks about how that was a great thing for him. I get hating a rival team because it's a rival team, but pretending it's based on something objective, like somehow they deserve to be hated because of their behavior, is really idiotic. The fact is, if the Arizona Cardinals or the Rams were the main rival of either the 49ers or the Hawks -- we'd be hating on Janoris Jenkins, we'd call Jeff Fisher and arrogant prick, etc. It's what happens. Just enjoy the rivalry without trying to pretend it's somehow objectively justified because it's not.

Yoss, tell your own fan base that because you are on an island. All we hear about is the cheating seahawks, Sherman and his public remarks, Carroll and his past with USC or his gum chewing on the sidelines, Tate and his one mistake that he took ownership of and said it would never happen again, and now the ticket thing. It is your side looking for reasons to hate every bit as much as our side.

Personally if Kaepernick really does have bible tats and has a real interest in charity it makes his antics seem even more fake now as a wannabe thug. Like he is trying to be something he isn't. But I don't really care. He is goofy and says some dumb things to the press sometimes and Wilson is boring and repetitive. So what to both?

Well, from my perspective is that all I hear is about Harbaugh and Kaepernick is a thug or wannabe thug. IT's all a matter of perspective, which is exactly my point.

Let me be the first to say I don't think Harbaugh is a thug or wannabe thug.

Harbaugh? A thug? :laugh3:

No way. Just a whinny little bitch who can't control himself or act anything that resembles professional on the field. But then what do I know, I'm a fan of his biggest rival right?

By the way, for all you conservatives out there, enjoy the one & only time you'll ever see California like that as a red state.

Exactly, I know Seattle, having lived here for 20+ years, if Carroll was in SF and Harbaugh was up here people here in Seattle would be saying how authentic he is, how they love his intensity and competitiveness and what a great coach and a winner he is and they'd be hating on Carroll for his cheating ways in SC and his fake California laid back attitude.

You lived up here 20 years and think that? We never liked Rick Neuheisel even though he won us games because he came in with blood on his hands and had a bad reputation. Never accepted Willingham, but for obvious reasons. The city was quick to turn on Mora and it is the main reason he wouldn't return to coach UW when that job came open. He doesn't want to let his city down again and doesn't want his family having to deal with the fans.

You don't know shit about us. Many of us didn't want Carroll, but not because of whatever happened, or didn't happen and USC. It was because he didn't have a great record in the NFL on his first go around.

What are we supposed to hate Carroll for? He chews gum on the sideline and has a swagger about him when his team is up? I mean that's it right? The only things your fan base brings up is made up shit they think, not anything in reality. Your people believe Carroll is responsible for the drug usage on the team and insist they are doing it because he is asking them to. We laugh at harbaugh because he looks like a little girl throwing a tantrum over her brother getting away with something with mommy.

You know Seattle? Right. If that makes you sleep better at night with your hate then I'll leave you to your own ignorance.

You totally misunderstand my point, and I don't hate Seattle, and you calling me ignorant is laughable. Let me try again, my point is that if Harbaugh were the Seahawks coach and Carroll were the 49ers coach Seattle fans would love Harbaugh because he wins and would hate Carroll because he wins for the rival team and would manufacture reasons to do so. I never said one bad word about Carroll and I won't, because he's a great coach, I'm just saying that as fans you hate your rival then backfill the reasons for it.

Not entirely. There are those who would do that, but I for one would hate Harbaugh no matter who he coached, since I've not liked Harbaugh since the 80s, so I'm pretty consistent with that. Also, despite being at USC, I've always liked Carroll, even when USC and WSU were competing for Pac Championships (I know, long time ago, and it seems even longer than it was). Now, that's just me.
