Oooo Ouch! Take that Pete!

Yep. There was a stat that said iced kickers make it 74.6% of the time. Non-iced kickers make it 81.something%. (I'm assuming this is out of game-deciding kicks only.) But there's a caveat - YOU MUST STOP THEM BEFORE THE PRACTICE KICK!

I seriously don't understand what difference it makes to call a timeout once anyone lines up vs. right before the snap? If I were Pete, I would have asked the ref to tell me when the timeout was over and let the kicker get to the hashmark or half-field, and call timeout. The calling timeout gives him time to worry it doesn't get him anxious about whether the ball will be snapped, which is all that waiting could do. I guess another idea is if you are not going to call the timeout, then it makes the kicker wonder if there is going to be a timeout. But any kicker worth his salt is just going to proceed as if it counts. You don't need to ever let down.

If I were a kicker, I'd understand the idea that it is better to ask forgiveness than permission. Follow-through and kick, then say, "oops" if they tell you that you shouldn't have kicked. What are they going to do? No fine and if there were, ask Cundiff if he would have taken a fine if he could trade it for another chance to make it (I know, he wasn't iced). As the kicking team, feel free to accidentally run into kicker if he kicks, right? (Assuming that you know of the timeout).

I'm hoping our D comes out huge Sunday and makes a statement. It's not going to be easy against that offense but I think our D is due for a nice shutdown game. Been slipping a little lately.

holding rogers to 17 points (minus bs PI) is basically a shutdown game

chances are we're gonna need to attack the middle of the field. i'd like to see crabtree in the slot cuss we don't really have a slot guy. celek is an option to work the middle of the field but doubt he gets to see the field unless there's an injury to walker :) :)

Davis should have a nice game if the Falcons play zone coverage. I agree on Crabs doing some work in the slot.

I wish we were underdogs. We seem to play better when we aren't favorites

I agree. Unless Matt Ryan plays an absolutely perfect game- I don't see the 49ers losing. 5-0 all-time in NFC Championship games.....

This quote is incorrect. We have won the NFC Championship 5 times.

Yes I agree, just haven't seemed like themselves lately. But I think last yr spoiled me. And I'm not saying that I don't think there playing good. Just would like to see a big 3 turnover game is all. Lol
