Vernon Davis passed out Beats By Dre headphones to all his #49ers teammates; Beats By Dre supplied those red headphones for trip to ATL

They are brilliant marketers. They had something like 60% of the high-end headphone market last Christmas, when they are not even close to the highest-rated headphones. Every little piece of media attention probably helps them reach these heights.

Matt Barrows:

One more player in a black jersey today: Add Tavares Gooden to a list that includes Bruce Miller, Aldon Smith and Tarell Brown.

Pete Damilatis (PFF):

Tony Gonzalez absolutely dominated Bruce Irvin in the running game Sunday. His +2.6 @PFF run block grade was his highest since Wk 2 of 2009.

Bruce Irvin never struck me as a very good run-stopper at DE.

...I know the minute I say that CP is gonna show some stats that prrove me wrong. :)

Let's just say that was my impression.

Ha. No. Everything I've ever read has suggested that he wasn't very good this year. In fact, I've read several NFL All-22 film reviews that their whole DL struggled at times against the run throughout the season.

One of my favorite areas in football to look at is yards after contact and yards after contact allowed. This isn't a good breakdown by position or anything fantastic like that, but it's noteworthy none the less.

Cecil Lammey:

big defensive differences in #49ers #Falcons game, especially in yds allowed after contact SF ranked 1st (909 yds) ATL ranked 31st (1,376)

This was quite visible during the second half of the Seattle game.

THAT is surprising considering they have Mebane at DT and Red Bryant at LDE a lot.

They were 10th in the NFL for rushng yards allowed per game. I don't know how that works out per rush though.
