Messi would have scored 200 if he played in Brazil the last 5 years.

It will be pretty interesting to see if Neymar comes in with the attitude of taking the back seat to Messi or if it completely fucks the team chemistry.

So I guess Pele's stats are a bit overrated considering he also played at Santos, too?

Look, I know similar to Messi, Neymar hasn't had the glowing success for country as he's had for club but let's not forget that La Liga isn't necessarily the most physical league compared to the hacks that play in England.

And to answer your question, it'll be interesting to see what kind of chemistry is displayed at the Nou Camp but Messi is as great a facilitator as he is a finisher, so seeing him feeding Neymar has the potential to be pretty devastating.

That said, my issue is not with Barca's offensive form, but it's their defense. They should have kept Miquel but Arsenal has fleeced their youth system (i.e. with Fabregas) as he would have complemented Pique well. Puyol is on his way out and I don't believe Mascherano should be a starting central DF, so Barca should find the funds to add to their defensive four, namely central defense and perhaps looking for an heir apparent to Valdes.

These leagues are too one sided. When is the last time a team not named Barca or Real won the spanish league?

For a time being it was either Man U or Arsenal battling for the prem, but now with new found money the likes of Chelsea and Man City have stepped into the fold. If some magnates want to take over a couple of teams in Spain, the taking is there but those men have either yet to step up or they have purchased some teams in the Prem to make them more competitive.

In Italy, it's either Milan, Inter, or Juve who have been involved. In Germany, you have the likes of Wolfsburg and Stuttgart getting involved but lately it's Munich or Borussia winning.

La Liga is awful. If you're not Real or Barca, why even show up?

At least in Serie A and the EPL you have 4-5 teams who can compete or a title. In La Liga and the German league there are only 2 teams who can win a title.

Crystal palace to the epl

yeah im happy because i like ian holloways style of play...lot of fun to watch...this will be i think palaces 4th stint in the prem...they have never survived a season in the top flight...always relegated straight back....oddly enough the same applied to watford..2 stints 2 instant relegations.

More like 3 teams in Serie A, as I mentioned. If you don't believe me, look at the list of Italian football winners.

With the Prem, the only reason why it's like that is because Roman Abramovich and that Asian tycoon for Man City were involved which is why 2 other teams have entered the foray.

If Arsenal gives in to that Russian magnate, watch for Arsenal to start luring players as well.

That seems to be logical. Actually, both Bale and Suarez are supposedly headed to the Castillan giants.

For my Catalonian brethren, it looks as if Kompany may land at FCB, which would be an awesome addition. It's looking either him or Mats Hummels of BVB, considering Thiago Silva offers are being rebuffed by PSG.

Let's look at all the leagues since 2000. Since 2000 in Serie A there's been 5 different winners with Juventus & Inter winning 9 of those titles.

In the EPL there's only been 4 different winners since 2000 with Man U winning 8 of those titles and Chelsea winning 4.

If we're using your timeframe, then technically there have been 4 spanish teams who have won the title.

5 vs 4 isn't that much different.

Yeah there's not much of a difference but since 04-05 its been Real or Barca in La Liga so basically we are approaching 10 years since another team won. If Real/Barca win the title next season it will be a full 10 years since another team won the title and btw in that time period, only one time did they not finish 1-2 in the league.
