My bad- miss interpretation of the active leaders last season I guess. Still... i guess he is the active saves leader now.

IMO he was more than fortunate last season. There was a four game stretch there, when he came in with no outs and a two run lead, and left with the bases loaded/given up a run. Another one Martin threw out the tying run at the plate for the third out. And still another where he came in with a one run lead, got 2 guys on and AB made a great catch at third to end the game. That's 3 I can immediately recall where he got saves and just as easily could have gotten a blown save, if not a loss.

For this season, he's got 4 blown saves and last night he gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and a walk. BUT he did get the save.

For the record his SO/W ratio last year was a little better than 3-1, which is good. But Nathan has posted 7 seasons himself which were better than this ratio.

And like you said - actually echoing my point - he's 39 and age has caught up with him, and this includes last season IMO.

These are the worst freaking announcers I have ever heard, I turned the sound off.

Are you freaking kidding me? Seriously, they sound like they're about 15 years old, just absolutely irritating, the worst homers I've ever listened to. We HAVE to score after that remark.


They love Beltre though...."The best defensive 3rd baseman since he's been playing" "One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet" "one of the best hitters in the A.L."
everybody loves Beltre.

I know the common refrain after the game will be "Colby pitched well but made one mistake" I'm sorry, but when "one pitch" results in a two out three run bomb that nullifies all the good if the rangers don't come back.

The 4th inning was not so good. He made quite a few mistakes, though I didn't see the first 3 innings.
