Most of the time, I think trades that happen are the ones where there weren't any rumors or leaks about them. It's the ones no one expects.

But, there's a few other categories.

* News that I thought wasn't really going to happen, but happened.

1). Shaq to the Suns. I remember hearing about this around 6pm on an evening. It didn't make sense. I went to bed early.

I woke up the next day and it actually happened.

2). Bill Bellichick to UNC.

Seemed like it was just a negotiating ploy versus NFL teams. Seemed like it would be a bad fit, since college football is a lot about recruiting.

Seemed like it would be a bad fit, since college is also about developing men, vs. the NFL, which has grown, mentally developed men.

Seemed like Bellichick was just going to wait for a NFL offer, then try to break the wins record.

Well it actually is happening.

I'll note that one radio caller I heard last night said that maybe Bellichick is considering UNC, because he hasn't gotten any NFL offers. He's been considered, but never gotten an offer so far. So he has seen the writing on the wall.



There's other examples of news I thought would never happen, but did, but these are the ones I remember the most.
