Just caught up on DVR. Well this is a fucking debacle. We're getting embarrassed in our house. Love Alex. Throw three INTs to put us in a 20-point hole, then throw a four-yard checkdown on 4th and 15, and run for half a yard on 3rd and 10 in our territory. That's gonna bring us back.

I wanted Alex to succeed but he just lacks that quality of bringing us back in games like this. He did it in the Philadelphia game last year and against the Saints (which was amazing) but he lacks the consistency and the arm to do damage to opposing defenses. This is the textbook plan that opposing teams have against us - if you get out to an early lead against us we just don't have the aerial attack to come back in games like this. We couldn't do it in this game as well as the Vikes game and we couldn't do it in last year's NFC Championship game.

I really hope I eat crow after writing this but good grief...

This is just like the Viking games. We have lost all 3 phases of the game in dominate fashion. I think our best football is a lot better than last years, but we are not nearly as consistent as these 2 losses show.

Anyway I'd rather beat them in the Playoffs.

Our offense can hang up more points, but the D is playing worse. And the offense still isn't very good against a competent D. Right now, we've got to worry about dropping one to the Hawks on Thursday and falling to 4-3. This is a fucking disaster. This team has been awful. Just awful. Worst game I can recall under Harbaugh.

Game started good then went to shit when Harbaugh went cute. Like it or not the Niners are a Power running and limited passing team and thats the formula that works. Just like the Vikings game the Niners came out trying to prove they can pass to win with the same result. The formula for Niner wins is Gore and Hunter and just enough VD and Crabtree to keep the defense honest.

MY questions is, on those ints, why was the FS able to play within 6 yards of the LOS? Why have no one as a deep threat to keep them honest?

because they won't spread the field. They want a three TE set all the fucking time

I've pulled for Alex more than anyone except a few people on this bard. But he's limited. He has poor pocket presence, his arm strength is mediocre at best, and he doesn't throw into tight windows. He is a very good game manager more of the time, but that's what he is. He cannot carry a team.

This game isn't entirely his fault. The D and STs have been appalling as well. But his INTs were terrible.

Our OL had no chance on that play, that stunt had them beat from the start

The other problem is the Giants appear to have decided that VD wasnt going to beat them in the passing game and we should have brought in more sets with Moss and Crabs and Mario to make them cover... And Alex gets sacked again. Heres looking forward to a better night on thursday.

OT: Feely about to attempt a 61-yd FG to tie the game with 1:14 left.
