I have a loose knowledge of the game. But I fear it's no where near the level of a true life long die hard fan.

As long as you complain about the Refs when your team gets a penalty, but agree 100% of the time when the other team gets a penalty, because they deserved it, then you are on your way.

Also yell "SHOOT!" everytime your team is on the PP.

In hockey, sometimes the ugliest and unlikeliest shots go in. Just put the puck on the net and sometimes good things happen.

Depends if you have traffic in front of the net. Screen the goailie and anything can happen you could get a rebound because the goalie cant see the original shot. It's not how hard the shot is it's about timing.

Depends on the situation, but on a power play, a team will shoot from far out and hope for either a deflection or tip for a goal. If that doesn't work, it also opens up the chance for a nice rebound that someone could get into the net.

There is no such thing as a bad shot in Hockey.

usually shooting for a deflection and / or rebound.
not many people expect to score from the blueline.
