What do you mean move the team away from DC? They are not in DC now nor do they really need to be for any reason in the future. There are plenty of interested parties in MD and VA & that is where a major portion of their fanbase resides. DC needs the Redskins much more than the Redskins need DC.

As mentioned previously - sure it would be nice to build a new home & surrounding business in DC, but it would be just as nice to do this in one of the 2 surrounding states.

I'd shoot for VA. The Governor, though a Dem, doesn't have a problem with the name and has always welcomed the Redskins in the Old Dominion.

As I said I like the National Harbor area as a site. It has roads from DC and VA and site lines up the river of the city.

Yep - the main issue for the National Harbor will be traffic given the existing traffic & more on its way with the new MGM Casino in that area. However - I have read where they can construct a new ramp to help alleviate some of this (similar to what they did for FedEx).

Loudoun County would be nice but they don't have the infrastructure for it. Not to mention you would have everyone driving halfway to the mountains for a football game.

SoCal is right about traffic near National Harbor but for 8 Sundays a year plus concerts .... not to mention it wouldn't take anywhere near as much new infrastructure to make it more accessible.

I am not anti-Virginia. They have been good to the Redskins. I just don't know where they could put it. That doesn't mean I know what I am talking about though.

For my own good I would rather they didn't put it in MD near National Harbor. Coming home from work when there is a Monday or Thursday night game will be UGLY!!

I've stopped using ESPN for anything years ago. I don't give it any web traffic I don't tune in (with exception of MNF and big games) I no longer watch sports center (in part Bc of above quote and also because I find baseball to be horrendous) I no longer listen to ESPN radio I gave it all up

Bomani Jones and Jamele Hill are disgraces while Stephen A gets reeled in for having opinions every now and then that don't completely align with the victim mentality. I have tons of respect for Stephen A who definitely leans left but is a free thinking man who doesn't always align and knows when to tell ppl to STFU

I learned years ago that these people (especially when it comes to sports) know much less than I do. These people are trained writers or communication majors. That gives them no credit when it comes to knowing or understanding a sport.

A poll like the one that was just done by WaPo and even the poll in 2004 just proves that these pompous asses don't care about the truth and only want to offer their unfounded opinions because it makes them feel better about themselves.

Templar, I use ESPN as little as possible also. They became so self righteous it was disgusting. Having said that it is hard to find good accurate journalism anywhere. The sports world needs more Al Galdi's who actually cover sports. When 24 hour sports was first suggested I though it was Nirvana. I was wrong. Because the people reporting it did not know or understand sports they were covering they focused on the drama and off field events and called that sports coverage. I really don't care what happens to Manziel or what he does with his life. I didn't care if Tiger Woods cheated on his wife. I was interested in how he would do in the US Open etc.

Ok, as to football. If you are not Native American you are allowed to say that Redskins is a despicable name and a are showered with accolades for your brave stance against the oppressed. If you are not Native American and say the name is fine then you are a hateful racist who is out to destroy all minorities.

for the record the pic was way over the top and very radical IMO however if you are going to fire one guy for a political view point and state we dont want political view points at our station the you have to do the same to the other point of view

to say that a man or woman should use the restroom that corresponds to their current anatomy isnt so bad is it . i am not saying that transgenders are some sex predators waiting for my wife and children to pounce on however people can use this for their own gain and advantage and we should look at that

a simple solution is to have a family / unisex bathroom to use and both sides are protected however some people just want to force people to do things for reasons of power
