Game Time: 10:30pm EST/7:30pm PST - FS-West

DEVILS (8-8-5) at KINGS (15-6-1)

TV: MSG PLUS; FS-W

Last 10: New Jersey 6-3-1; Los Angeles 7-2-1

Season series: This is the second and final meeting of the season between the New Jersey Devils and Los Angeles Kings. L.A. won 2-0 in Newark on Nov. 15 in the first meeting since the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.

Big story: Jonathan Quick led the Kings past the Devils to the Stanley Cup in 2012, but it's Ben Scrivens who will try to beat New Jersey for the second time in a week and extend the Kings' winning streak to five games. Scrivens shut out the Devils at Prudential Center and is perfect in four starts since Quick went down with a groin injury last Tuesday.

Team Scope:

Devils: New Jersey's persistence, and a little luck, paid off in a 4-3 overtime victory against the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday in the opener of a three-game California trip.

The Devils trailed 3-2 after 40 minutes, outshot the Ducks 10-0 to start the third period and finally got even with 1:01 remaining when Jaromir Jagr scored after Martin Brodeur had been pulled for a sixth attacker. The Devils won it at 1:58 of OT when Travis Zajac's shot was stopped by Jonas Hiller, only to have Ducks defenseman Ben Lovejoy shoot the puck off teammate Corey Perry and into his own net.

The win was a relief for Devils coach Peter DeBoer, whose team had been 0-5 in games decided after regulation.

"We’ll take it," he said. "We had a bunch of those go against us in the first 10 games of the season."

Cory Schneider, the loser against the Kings last Friday, is expected to start in Los Angeles after Martin Brodeur played in Anaheim.

Kings: General manager Dean Lombardi told Sportsnet 590 The Team in Toronto on Wednesday that Quick is likely to remain sidelined well into December. But the Kings haven't missed him so far thanks to Scrivens, who is 4-0-0 in four starts with a pair of shutouts since taking over as the starter after Quick was injured in overtime against the Buffalo Sabres on Nov. 7. That includes a 5-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Staples Center on Tuesday.

Not that Scrivens didn't get a lot of help; five players had goals and he saw only nine shots through 40 minutes.

"That's why we're a good team," coach Darryl Sutter said. "We don't give up a lot."

Who's hot: Jagr has three goals in New Jersey's past two games and leads the Devils with eight goals, 17 points and a plus-10 rating. … Justin Williams had a goal and an assist against Tampa Bay and has five points in the Kings' past five games. Scrivens has stopped 105 of 109 shots in his four starts.

Injury report: New Jersey defenseman Anton Volchenkov is on injured reserve with a leg injury. Defenseman Bryce Salvador (broken foot) and forward Ryane Clowe (head) have been out for a month. … In addition to Quick, the Kings are without forwards Kyle Clifford (head) and Jeff Carter (broken foot), as well as defenseman Matt Greene (upper body).

Devils won last night in OT. Hope they are tired.

Well, it seems like Cory Schneider is going to be in net tonight so we'll see what happens there

should be another good game. Schneider has always done well in games against LA, even during the Vancouver series he only gave up 1, 1, & 2 goals.
