Finding a franchse qb is what 2/3rds of the teams in the nfl need. Though I’d love for the WTF’s to find one this offseason, I dont want them to trade up to get one.

Nor do I think they should trade for one. Roll with Haskins, Allen, and Alex Smith for another year if you must, and draft a qb to develop. Build up the offense so the qb doesnt have to do as much.

The WTF’s can find a #2 wr in free agency. I like golladay more than allen robinson, that’s for sure.

They can also find serviceable olinemen in free agency too, just like they did this year.

In short,in free agency, they should:

spend some money on a very good #2 wr

spend less money (same as this year) on 1-2 olinemen if similar stature as they did this year

spend a similar amount of money on a lb this year.

In the draft they should:

draft a qb
draft an olineman
draft a free safety
draft a tight end
draft a lb
draft a rb
draft a wr

LT Lucas has become the unsung hero of the offense line. He has played well. Of course we need a WR and QB if Smith retires. LB's are a weakness. Reeves and Curl have made huge strides. I think we are all set at the safety position when Collins comes back. CB looks fine too but we might lose Moreau to FA. Dline is loaded.

Besides LB its really the offense that needs a huge upgrade. I wouldnt mind brining in 2 Wr one through Fa and one through the draft.

Golloday and Robinson shouldnt cost big money b/c of their age and they are injury prone. The Sims guys are avg at best. AGG didnt develop this year. We could draft a wr in the top 3 rounds of the draft.

golloday is 27 . the sims guys look to me like 3-6 guys as does AGG but he has potential for more so i would agree with getting a WR in the top 3 rounds . toney is my guy there

Right but he isnt going to command top money, neither will Robinson. We need a good vet Wr on this roster.

cooper was offered 22 mil per season by us , i see gollowday and robinson getting 12 to 15 mil to come here

robinson is on just such a contract , 3yr 42 mil . 25 mil guaranteed

the local press here in MI predict gollowday to come in at 16to 18 mil based on roberts woods contract

now i am not sure i want to pay out that to either one of those guys . i would simply draft a wr

now the argument will be made that less the cap is the less players can ask for . and i say they are missing ratios

also look into the future , we will have to extend mac next season , we have to resign sherrf or tag him again , payne , allen will be do soon

the question now becomes can we win a superbowl NEXT season ? i dont think so yet

Gollwday and Robinson for 12 to 15 is not bad at all. WR is a huge priority this off season. Allen would be interesting to resign b/c if they are going to extend Payne we already have Ionman under contract plus we have Settle.

ionman contract ends in 2022 and settle will be needed to get done BEFORE payne and allen

so paying a guy 15 mil then having to pony up for mac at cooper money starts adding up . god forbid we get stafford or ryan or keep CDC till he drops dead

I wouldnt pay either golladay or robinson $16-18 million a season. I might pay golladay $12 though. I also wouldnt mind doing exactly what the WTF’s did this past year and wait for the first wave to be over, then offer a wr less money than that on a one year “prove it” deal.

There’s a medium range to be explored there brtween the cody lattimers of the nfl - in my opinion no better than what we currently have - and the allen robinsons of the nfl (in my opinion, not worth the price tag).

Whether or not Kenny Golladay fits into that spot remains to be seen I guess.

In 2018, he caught 70 for 1063 yards and 5 TDS.
in 2019, he caught 65 for 1190 and 11 TDS.

They are not going to get big money in Fa like a A. Cooper. Im saying they are targets for us in FA. Golloday has been injured this year. I believe we need to get a legit WR in Fa here.
