Game Thread: Nebrasketball vs. Michigan State

We are finally back in the RPI top 100 sitting at 100th.

Michigan State is sitting at 34th.

This isn't a make or break game, but it is a game we need really bad. It would be our most impressive win this year so far. Quality wins are going to be needed at some point along the way if we're going to make it to the dance again.

Michigan State has had a roller coaster type of season.

They're beatable, no doubt. But they're still good. They played well against Duke and Kansas.

Now that tickets cost an arm, a leg, and a penis I may never get to the PBA.

How sad is it that EYE, thee JJM, have yet to even step foot in the PBA?

I only see 3 sure losses remaining. Wisconsin in PBA and a home and away with Maryland. The last game with Maryland in the PBA might very well be like the last game with Wisconsin last year. If the Huskers can get into the Top 6 of the Big 10 and pull the upset over Maryland, I think they'll be in.
Judging by the last interview with Miles I think he's finally giving up on the run. He said it's leading to poor decision making on shots. I'm glad he finally took that email I sent to him a few weeks ago about it to heart.

I think we stand a chance in the 2 at home, but we are outmatched.

Illinois did beat Maryland in their own building, however.

Miles is in a tough spot. His best player does some pretty stupid shit, especially in transition. You're not going to not play your best player. I think what he's given up on is Petteway not being a retard.

Shavon has really struggled at times this year too.

And Benny has been getting beat on Defense here and there which really is the only reason we have him out there, so that needs to stop too.

The veterans haven't been stepping up to the plate.

For whatever reason this team just doesn't run well together. Miles wanted them to and probably took too long trying to let it come around. If they'll be slowing it down, shot selection should improve and turnovers should be reduced.
