I talked to me madre and she told me that what commonly happens in this situation is they settle out of court.

Neither party will press charges and then it will be up to the state prosecutor to decide whether they still want to pursue it.

They hike up the charge to something serious like 2nd degree assault so they have room to negotiate.

They'll talk them down to some sort of diversion program provided they are first time offenders.

I doubt this affects his status as a Husker. Bo obviously pushed for Fonzie to be given a second chance after he did something worse, so he would be a hypocrite to give lewis the cold shoulder. This is a unique circumstance, but my money is on him suiting up in 2014.
