I mean, when you rumor a guy to be going to a bunch of teams, sure, might hit on the occasional one. Also these rumors are not even rumors as they are made public after the teams pretty much agree to a deal. also good chance to get it right when a guy like AD wants to be dealt to just one team.

I really cannot recall huge deals that were rumored to go down well before it did...I'm not saying never happened, just don't recall.
AD to the Lakers I think is an example

Edit: oops you mentioned him. Butler to the Ws was talked about some

He played with an awful oline at Colorado. Thinking a qb who played with a shit line for 2 straight seasons is overhyped is an interesting and a hater like take.

Yeah, hard to say that he's overrated considering what he played behind in Colorado. There's no question that he has talent. The big questions will be...how much did playing behind that line hamper his development? and will the team he goes to be patient with him?

The Raiders could be a very good landing spot for him. Pete will insist on a running game and a good defense...having those 2 things will allow him to develop under less pressure.

Yep.

And the Buffs had a pretty good season after a slow start.

I hope they get Najee Harris.

The Raiders better not sign Geno.

He actually wouldn't be a bad "bridge QB" if Sanders isn't ready to play right away.

Problem is...he might want more than they Raiders should be willing to spend on a 34 year old "bridge QB". Him wanting more than the Seahawks want to give him seems to be an issue in Seattle right now.

Butler to GS talked about some kind of goes to my other comment where if you mention a bunch of teams and hit on one not all that impressive. Hell, if you asked me to name 5 teams he might go to GS would have made my list. Probably yours, too?

I'd add when the return for these stars is mentioned it's almost always made up as not likely teams are telling anyone who they are dealing as a pretty bad look if not dealt. Now someone having info close to when it happened the Cavs were close to a deal for Hunter (or others like that)? I can buy someone might have offered that info.

I think you're overparsing this. Already gave you props for reminding us very often the big deals are totally off the radar. But some aren't, and you are posting like none of them are ever talked about first.

Harrris is not an everydown back.

Sincere McCormick and Ameer Abdullah are as good or better.

RB is a spot where Vegas would not be wise to invest unless a rookie they love falls to them. That is the last hole to fill.

In fact, I said likely some are but I cannot think of one (and, no, Butler would not qualify).
