Not close to done, look at this last one, top 5.
And that would have to be considered their first “SEC class” based on the timing of the announcement, these would be the first kids that knew OU was going to be in the SEC. Maybe you’re right in terms of them being able to sell that now and the Big 12 was holding them back.

I do think it’s true that the days of the top few teams dominating recruiting are over. It’s a whole new ballgame now. I expect changes are coming eventually on being able to transfer limitless times. That’s another matter though.

Maybe not.

But still a terrible look for Irsay.

Owners should at least pretend they care about their players.
Irsay is bat shit crazy. The difference between Taylor and Irsay is that Taylor has a chance to move on from crazy. Irsay and the Colts are gonna stay crazy.

I think they already can transfer limitless times. I was talking to two former D3 football players yesterday that I used to coach and they were telling me that there is even a transfer portal for D3 now. That’s crazy to me. Those guys aren’t even scholarship athletes.

Yea I’m saying it’s going to be restricted at some point, the Wild West won’t continue.

Still.

.500 is a terrible record for a major program.

SEC is awesome at the top. But non-conference and the bottom of the league provide plenty of opportunity for wins.

plenty of winnable games for a team with a pulse. No excuse for OU to lose more than 1 or 2 more games

Transfers have gone too far.

But the current rules are still an improvement over the old way to restrictive ones.

Hopefully they can find the right balance eventually. Everything the NCAA does seems to move way too slowly though.

The entitlement of that fan base is galactic. Dude is mad the Yankees haven't won a title in a few years so that means his suffering is the same as Browns fans lol
That’s exactly what I meant

It’s all about making the 12 team playoff now. 3 loss teams will be making it yearly.
If they play the right schedule. My big fear is collusion as realignment shakes out. Let’s say a program like FSU or Clemson stay in the ACC when most of the power is concentrated in the SEC and B10. I could see the SEC and B10 using out of conference to schedule like college basketball in an SEC/B10 challenge sort of deal. Play 9 conference games, one challenge game and 2 auto wins. Or 8 conference games, one challenge game and 3 auto wins. Those two huge juggernauts could shut out others.

Yeah. SEC will be getting 3 or 4 teams every year.
Add another 3 from the B10 and you now have half the tournament from those two conferences. Everybody who projected that 12 teams would open the door to smaller conference champs was mistaken.

You can bet the SEC is going to work for advantage as always. For instance as it stands now they are going with only 8 conference games.

^^^This is the big reason why I’m projecting that ND will be joining the B10 sooner as opposed to later. A move that has gone under the radar with this is the recent announced retirement of ND AD Jack Swarbrick. He’s older so retirement makes sense. However, he still has good years left. I don’t think he wanted to be the AD that has ND give up football independence. The writing is on the wall. It’s time too. I was always a fan who would defend ND’s independence as their wasn’t a conference in the country that would allow for them to maintain their coast to coast scheduling philosophy. But with the B10 adding two PAC 12 schools that’s no longer a concern.

Well there are at least going to be some at the party at least. That’s a long ways from winning it though.

His career as owner proves this....but he really isn't wrong with the comments. It's true. The League will go on without either of them.
Yes, but that doesn’t help the situation and that can apply to any player or owner in the league today.

Venables was a great DC on a team that had a great HC....as a HC Venables isn't very good.

Yeah, considering what they lost talent wise and that it was only 1 season...you may be a bit premature with that assessment. Just losing Caleb Williams was huge...add the other talent they lost, a new coaching staff with new schemes, etc. They were in a tough spot.

They finished 6-7, but 4 of their losses were by a field goal and another was by a touchdown. So, it's not like they weren't competitive.

All things considered; it could have been far worse.

Maybe give him a couple of recruiting classes and another season or 2 before deciding he's not good enough?
