6th round pick is an absolute steal for Pittsburgh.

But still, it's kind of a wtf are you doing? Wilson is a weird guy and brings his own chemistry issues into the locker room wherever he goes. No matter how many times you tell him Fields won't be competing with him, that's not how he or the team is gonna see it. So now you're adding this drama on top of Wilson's cornball ass.

Like I said a couple of weeks ago, Fields should have been the Steelers top target. The price was gonna be low, but I never would have guessed this low. I don't begrudge them at all for getting him. You do that every time. But it is eyebrow raising considering Wilson being on the roster now
Wilson may have already said and or done the wrong thing.

Wilson gave one corny ass speech at the practice facility and the Steelers were like "Nah, get Chicago on the phone ASAP"

He is known to not play well with others.

I like what the Steelers are doing. Pick up Fields 5th year option and have a sit year where he can reprogram from being in a garbage organization.

I really like the move, the Steelers are a great organization that needed a qb. Look out.

Both their qbs this year making 4m combined

This is the year to eirher load up or stuff your core guys with contracts that can be a little front loaded to smooth out future years replacing your qb room

Just surprised none of the other QB-less teams didn't offer more than a 6th for Fields

Market was flooded with supply

Jimmy g took a backup job

Minnesota didn’t want a short term solution as they seem to be building ammo to jump into the top 5

He got traded as a backup qb and went for that price

I don't follow the NFL that closely is he no better than a backup?

He showed flashes each of the last 2 years that he could be very good. He is a guy that they have to let run some to be successful.

He has shown those flashes.

Even at Ohio St he dropped dimes that basically few else could.

He's never been a top 20 QB, but he does have the ability to use his legs to create more value.

But the fact that none of the QB needy teams wanted him as a starter is a sign.

He probably should go to a team that will let him do more RPO. Art Smith did get the best year of Tanny's career....so maybe?
