Yes, you can, they didn't do what was necessary to get in. Other conferences have had their champs not get in and the way it was set up, there was always going to be at least one that didn't get in. This year should have been the SEC's turn to not get in.

Exactly that is such idiotic. The whole you can’t have a 4 team playoffs without the sec champ didnt make sense to me. Umm if they are not top 4 deserving then why the hell not? Why do they get to play on a different set of requirements than the other power 5 conferences?

SEC superiority has always been something of a myth. Until UGA broke through the past couple of years, it's been built on what Bama has done. The rest of the conference isn't really much different than other conferences. They have a couple of good teams who occasionally challenge Bama, some middling teams and a couple of dregs.

They also have used some scheduling "tricks" to artificially build their conference record like refusing to go to a 9-game schedule and scheduling OOC cupcakes the week before rivalry week.

There is no way the networks would rather see Joe Flacco and the Browns in the AFC title game than they would Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen.

Not necessarily. He came to college earlier than originally anticipated. His express reason for putting his course work on light speed was so that he could cash in on NIL. If he stayed at the initial pacing he sits last year as a true FR and he is the starter this year over McCord.
