Pretty sure the qb sliding there is the only time we would ever see that ruled that way. I guess anyone could be giving themselves up but typically it’s just the qb slide.

4th down Clemson qb goes into a slide just short of the first down. During the tackle targeting was called. They ruled it was a dead ball foul because it happened after the slide started and gave the ball to Duke prior to enforcing the penalty. Never seen that before.
